What would cause consistant right impacts? I'm shooting groups, but they are to the right. I shot some bare shafts and they flew slight nock right(stiff). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Assuming a RH shooter, stiff spine, release issues or you are crunching your shoulders. Have someone watch our release and bow arm, but the consistent part leads me to guess it is the arrow spine. Try a heavier point if you can and see if it helps.
What about the way you grip the bow.
I'm shooting a martin savannah 45lb @26 in.I think it's a spine issue.I tried tuning some 2016's for this bow. I'm thinking I should try some 1916's. What do you all think?
What's your drawlength??? If the spine is too stiff, then you need to go to heavier tips to weaken the spine.

Or...............depending on what your sideplate material is made of.......if it is soft, then try something harder, like a piece of leather.

I'm using a calf hair rest.I draw 26". Is it possible that an arrow can be so stiff that it shows weak?
Couple of things. First, I edited my post above to read "heavier" point. A 2016 may or may not work, depending on the bow, shooter, point weight and arrow length.
Yes, too stiff can show weak if the arrow hits the riser and kicks to the left(assuming RH shooter). Usually you will hear this, esp with aluminums.
1916 would be a better choice.
thanks I will keep at it. Time to get some new shafts.
Try something easy before you go making serious changes. Take a toothpick and put it behind your riser sideplate moving your arrow out to the left a little. Start with a whole toothpick. If its too much shave it down to half size.
wouldn't consistently right mean that it is already too weak. i may be wrong but when i tuned my last arrows, the shorter i made them(which made them stiffer) the more to the left they shot.
i agree w/ eman614. i thought a stiff spine would make the arrows impact left?????
i shoot a similar set-up...1913 or 2013 works for me.
False weak when an arrow is a lot over spined for a bow will put them to the right also from bouncing off the side plate.
Thanks all. I am going to play with some new arrows in the morning.
