In a ground blind, you want to minimize movement.  I shoot sitting on a stool.  In the tree, I shoot in the position I'm in when the deer comes.  I never stand too shoot if I'm sitting.

Try to blend with your cover and try to start to stand before they get in to range.Or lower the front cover so you can sit or kneel to make the shot ground hunting is all about making adjustments ,thats the fun part.

I killed my first deer from the ground this year; I was kneeling.
A couple weeks later I was standing in the same blind and got busted by a doe. I think you are less noticable if you are sitting or kneeling.
Good Luck

The less you move the better off you'll be, esp on the ground.  If you are going to have to stand to shoot, then be standing all the time.

I find/make a spot on the ground that I can shoot from kneeling position. That's the way I practice too 90% of the time.

If you sit behind the deadfall you'll always have to shoot over top and will silouette yourself everytime.  Try sitting in front of it instead. The brush behind you will break up your outline....it works!

Around here loggin is a big business, thers alway's  a downed tree top layin around and they work great.    find one thats got limbs that can be used from the back, sides and front if you can, if ther aint enuff you can add to it by nailin old branches here and ther or a piece of burlap that you can wraparound.
Some you can find that will have a place that will get you off the ground a little, mite want to make a small platform to sit and/or stand.  If it dont have a place just clean the leaves from under your feet, helps with the noise.
Just watch about when you do move around, move slow and easy, if you aint carefull you'll shake the whole thing and it's a big attention gitter.
         I likem anyway.

I try to set up so I can shoot from a seat or stool without standing. My Nifty Seat lets me pivot to get in position and my bow up as the deer approachs. Then I just draw and try to remember to pick a spot!

I usually stand while in a tree stand, but never stand on the ground.
