I went deer hunting today, and was skunked. Matter of fact, after seven hours of stalking the woods, the only deer I saw was in the moonlight of early morning. Nothing after that, and I didn't even see a feral hog despite tons of sign.
So why was it a good day? Well, I hadn't been able to deer hunt for 10 years. Last year, after nine years of military deployments and an overseas assignment, I thought I would finally get to hunt. However, after getting a bow, and getting good enough with it to hunt, I was diagnosed with cancer. Well, the chemo put the hunting on hold for awhile, but now I've recovered enough to get out and enjoy the woods. So yes, it was a good day.
Glad to hear you are a tough person, and it paid off. Thanks for putting things into proper perspective. Best wishes with the rest of you hunting season.
I hope You enjoy many more great days!!!
Amen to that.any day in the woods is a great day, sometimes the thinking you get done when in the woods is the best thinking you will do(and that includes not thinking at all).
