Just picked up the "new" Fred Bear DVD collection from 3 Rivers. This is a 4 disc set and even though I have some on VHS I could not watch them in the work shop so I took the plunge on the DVD's.
To say that I am pleased would be a vast understatement. Just to see Fred and all the other names from the past actually doing it.....just awesome to see!!!
If you are into the history you can see the specific bow Fred used in each hunt along with the specific quiver and his arrow set up.
The first bow I ever owned was a Bear and I have quite a few today and to be able to watch the shows that I saw as a youngster, with my kids with me now no less, is great.
A true sportsman and I am glad to be a traditional archer just like Fred!!!
They are fantastic, those films. My favourite is the one showing Bill Negley taking his first elephant.
cool! been waffiling about doing that i think you talked me into it!
Those things are great aren't they John. Evey time I watch them I'm reminded of Glenn St. Charles comment "back when men looked like men and smelled like men." Could add "behaved like men." Great stuff. Grant
Grant, You are spot on! I can't get enough. It is neat to see the film of Fred and you can spot where a "still" picture was taken. Where Fred hands the box of arrows to Capt. Ed is a neat scene.
Shakey, for not a whole lot you get a WHOLE lot of awesome archery history.
