I'm posting this for a new member we have here...Glenbo.
We met about 3 months ago on the job we're working on.
Glen is a very serious traditionalist to say the least. He'll fit in here on TG perfect!
He's a great guy with a good sense of humor, and talented self bowyer, and apparently a very good hunter!
He killed his first doe opening weekend with his laminated longbow.
But as you'll read, this one was very, very special to him. I told him today at work that he better be ready to type up a story for the good folks of TG, he just smiled.....
I was walking past Glen one time at work this afternoon, and while he was screwing something to the floor he said.... and I quote...."not even this place can ruin my day today"
Congrats bud :clapper:

Thanks for all the kind words. It was a good afternoon for me.Last week I hung a stand in an area that I had been seeing a few bucks, including a decent 8 pt that I had just out of my comfort zone.Yesterday afternoon I was on stand at 3:40 as this stand is only about 300 yds from my front door.At about 430 I had two does and two fawns come in and after fifteen minutes of trying th hide behind my bow I finally got a 12 yd shot off and hit her quartering away exiting in her off shoulder. She went down in 50 yds and I was happy to see her go down.I was using a 57# hickory selfbow that I had recently completed one rainy day this season.I cut this tree down last january about a hundered yards from where she crashed.660 gr birch shafts,Ace journeyman up front.Complete pass through. This bow is by no means fast but is super quiet .Hopefully there will be more to come.Good luck to all and have a safe season.Glen
Impressive!! Good luck with the buck.
Congrats Glen. I met Glen in the late 90's when I worked in a Compound shop. Since we both shot trad we hit it off. He was a visitor here in my shop buying woodies from me and Glen is a very talented self bowyer and one of the nicest guys around. :readit:
Congrats Glen, and welcome! Seems you've always been here :D .
