Thanks guys,John's work is just awesome! I'm very impressed,
Awsome bow I just received mine I'm getting ready to post the pic's
Very nice looking stick ya got there. Congrats. :clapper:
When I order my next longbow (whenever that is) it will have the same veneers, love that look.
I've been trying to decide if I wanted a brown colored wood for the riser or a reddish style wood...have it narrowed down to Bacote, Birds-eye maple or on the other end Cocobolo, bloodwood or redheart.
I like that bow a lot...what is the yellow strip? Osage?
Josh
Ooooh, that is one nasty piece of Bocote! I love it!
Does John have a website?

yeah Josh that stripe on the riser and tips is Osage! This wood really grew on me in the past few months, I really think it looks awesome with Bacote!
George, John is old school, no cell phone, no email, no internet and no website! He is just an all around great guy that makes an awesome bow up in Northern Wisconsin!!
WOW!!! that is a beautiful bow!! I love that bacote!!!
Very nice!
John has been making bows a long time. I think he told me he started about 1950 something with Whiffen. He is pushing 80 years old I believe. Maybe someone can chime in here that knows more then I do. He really is a neat guy and a character as well. Chad
I believe he told me he started building in 1957 and I think he is 81 years old. I really enjoy talking to him when I see him at the various shoots.
Nice bow...congrats
Looks good...marco!
Beautiful bow!
anyone have contact info for John and approximate price range???
Thanks
John builds an awesome bow. Quite a character to talk to. He is 82 and sharp as a tack. I hope I'm going that strong when I'm 82.

I think people would be shocked at the price and turn around time, in a good way that is!!!!!
You have a PM
how does it compare to your mohawk? pm it to me if you prefer along with price info.thanks.....larry
Will do Larry! Both great Bows! The grips are very much alike and they shoot the same arrow. This makes things less complicated!
Here are a couple better pics of the tips for those that inquired!

That is a sweet looking bow! I have one of John's cards, given to me by his good friend Ken Koepsel.
Ken also worked for Whiffen archery as a young lad.
82 years young, pretty good too me! Good shootin with it, Joe!
I took this one tonight just before her maiden voyage, I just knew someone would want a strung profile pic!
