Title: Matching pionts
Post by: twitchstick on November 04, 2009, 10:12:00 AM
I am looking at changing broadheads to a higher grained head. Which is making it hard to keep all of my pionts the same grain,Field points judos ect.... I like to have them all the same for practice, hunting, stump shooting, ect. I shoot a 125 grain head 100 gr brass insert on beaman MFX 400's but my switch to 160 grain. Ideas??

Sometimes you have to get a little creative and use glue on heads with the closest weight adaptor you can find.Often there is a little space in the ferrule,in front of the adaptor and you can add some lead shot there to up the weight a little,as needed. There is also a space in the front of some adaptors where you could add shot.#6 shot weighs about 2 grains per pellet.

I have heard of people wrapping copper wire around Judo's to get the weight up.The glue on 135 gr Judo's are really 145.

That was my first thought.  Retune with heavier front end!

The good thing about having EFOC arrows is that you have a lot more leeway on the front end to play around with - plenty more options for tinkering!
