nice deer
I would say somewhere around 120, but I'm far from being any good at it. I can't really see his spread! Hope you get a crack at him!
In the 120 to 125 range. It's a super nice buck, any buck with a bow is a trophy.    To give you an idea, the buck in my avatar was a typical main frame eight point and it scored 145 0/8.
To me, it's an 8 pointer. Never killed anything that big or seen anything that big while hunting, so I unfortunately never had the need for a scoring system beyond the number of points.
He's a dandy - Go get him!!!
Frankly I think that is a darned nice buck, and is fit for anyone, whether or not they are "needing the meat!"
I would never cheapen the sport by defining a trophy by numbers. I never understood that and never will. You should be proud to take a buck like that in fair chase, and not have to feel like it isn't worthy of taking. It's a good buck.
Enough, shoot him!
I have a question. How old is he? I am trying to get better at guessing deer age.
Nice buck-go for him!
I would guess he scores high enough for an arrow! Nice buck. As for age, I would guess 3.5, but that is only a guess.
My system doesnt go on points or age, reckon? :goldtooth:
I would rate him as a solid "10". Seeing him around is more than enough to get ya' up before the clock goes off!
Can't tell the spread but most likely 120 plus or minus a bit. But it really don't matter, Thats a fine mature whitetail that I would love to get a crack at!!! Good hunting, see if you can get him!!
Probably 120ish, if you get the chance to shoot im, your internal gauge will tell ya what to do!! LOL
well said George.
I would shoot him for sure. Good looking buck.
Score = 120-125 This was my guess even before catching a few other posts.
I agree with George though, I don't know that I would ever measure anything other than the memories and wall space required!
GO GET IM!
-Charlie
I'll tell you how I score...
Scrub buck... Decent buck... Nice buck... Dandy buck and finally Monster buck.
So with that scoring system I would say He's a Dandy buck, not quite a Monster but he sure is a Dandy that's for sure.
When I shot my first trad deer I had five bucks come in on me at once lingering about 30 to 40 yards out two where that big or a little bigger one was a nice little basket rack 8 and the one tht finally got close enough to stick was a Dandy little 3 pointer. Best deer I ever killed.
Good luck cause now that i'm looking at him compared to my Dandy trad buck I'd say he just might fall into the Monster category at least when I told the story he would. LOL
Go get him
I understand George's point, but personally, I see nothing wrong with honoring our antlered game by measuring their antlers and scoring them.
Yeah, all bucks are worthy and trophies, but some are just better than others.
This politically correct logic is even carried over to our kids who all get trophies, receive the same grades, told how wonderful they are, etc. Hey, some kids are better athletes or better students or whatever...and some bucks are just better than others.
Oh...I think the folks who scored it around 120 are probably pretty close.
I would say that he is going to be a bit higher than a few others say. 135 giveor take two inches. Let him walk if you think he will make it through the year. No shame in wanting himto get bigger. No shame in taking him as is either. Good luck!
id say high 120's to low 130's hard to tell age cant see belly but from the neck and id say if he was here in wisconsin id call him 2.5 old

That is a dang nice buck, and putting a score on him will definitely not cheapen the deer nor the sport, despite what others might try to imply. Those were some pretty high brow statements if you ask me. I would agree with others in that it is a 120 to 125 buck. Definitely a buck to be proud of for sure! I hope you can connect with him!
I think closer to 110-115..
But it's hard to tell from pix, could be higher.
I'm not a whitetail guy but maybe 120 ish. But realy your killing me,just shoot and ask questions later! Some of use have never killed a whitetail.
I'd guess the upper 120's.
Now go kill him and prove me right!
Thanks everyone for your response.I was just wondering what a deer like this would score.I'm not a trophy hunter and any deer I take is a trophy to me. He is a dandy and hope to have a crack at him next week.I have a full week off and hopefully the opportunity would present itself. I'll keep you posted if luck comes my way.
Thanks

I am with Stiks-n-Strings, he is a "dandy" and worthy of an arrow. The numbers stuff is far too complex for me ;) .
"Frankly I think that is a darned nice buck"
Me too but it doesn't tell me nothing about what size it is My first bow kill was smaller than half that and was still a "darned nice deer" in my eye's
"I would never cheapen the sport by defining a trophy by numbers."
Sorry you feel that way George I don't see how describing the actual size of an animal cheapen's him. It's not likely anybody here is exploiting the animal for finacial gain some folks just use the number as a referance. While I hope to shoot a book deer myself I have no intention of entering one it's just a referance and should a doe come by too close well she's a trophy too maybe again discribed by numbers be it weight or age
I'd say lucky to make P&Y @ 125 and a shooter in my book.Good luck
120 neighborhood
Like you've been hearin id say 120 give or take that was befor i even looked at any replys didnt want to get any other idea's age I think 2 1/2 to three years old.I hope we all get a shot at a deer like that some day good luck hope to see some pics soon of him on the ground.
I couldn't have said it any better than George Stout said it. I agree with George.
Mike Lee
I would guess 100-115. A great buck. I hope you get him. I sure would take him. Good luck.
I know exactly what this buck would score....My tag!
Hunting can be determined by many neither right, nor wrong, For some an outlet for the killer instinct borne into us, or a spiritual outlet of being outdoors. One thing it is not, is a sport. Sport is defined by individuals or teams competing against each other under equal circumstances to determine who is better at the game or endeavor. For Hunting to truly be a sport, give the deer, elk, bears, and ducks Bows, shotguns, or rifles. Then will it be a sport! I wrote " Scores nice if you need the meat" MY opinion was met to be, he is a nice deer to take. What other reason would you kill the deer or any animal if you or some one else didn't need or want the meat? Sorry i offended you George. Not my intentions. Any deer or animal taken is a gift in my mind. I don't label game as trophies or scores. (Thats just me,)but have no problem with those that do. Thats there right. And i respect it and them. Everybody is different and has different views of the same subject on this matter. Scores, trophies, gifts, we need to respect how other people see this pursuit of game. I was always taught that the bigger the rack on a buck the wiser he was and to connect with him was a feat. So if i'm full of it here. Well at least respect me?
He scores excactly the (http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh216/quartermoonlongbows/untitled.jpg)same as this one(enough)
i would say 120" to 125"ish nice deer shooter to me and Katie i would proly age him as 2.5 maybe 3
