Any of you folks shoot 64" amo or shorter 21st Century longbows? In particular, I'm interested in the Edge & Lone Star designs that are pulled to at least 28" draw length. I own a 66" amo Lone Star that I draw to 28". It's a very smooth shooting bow. I wonder how much I might give up if I were to get a 64" or even a 62" model for hunting out of treestands. Thanks in advance for your input.
Will not be as smooth as your 66'. I would stick with the longer bow
Dragonheart, My 66" amo Lone Star works okay from a stand, I just have to cant it & watch out for my stand cables. I was hoping that a slightly more maneuverable 64" amo wouldn't feel too much different, but I guess you can't have everything in one bow. I should mention that I shoot a Martin Savannah (only 62" amo) quite well, but maybe it's just something about that particular longbow design that fits me. Clint
With the shorter bow you will be giving up speed also: less reflex in the limbs (as per Milton's web site).
God bless,
Jose
PS I am waiting on a 66" Lone Star. Hopefully I will hear from Milton soon.
So, when the length is shortened on the Edge/Lone Star, the riser stays the same
& the length comes off the working limbs. If that's the case, I understand & won't go any shorter. The 66" amo shoots great for me. I haven't shot a longer one & proabbaly won't since I don't shoot tournment archery.
