I was thinking tonight as I was shooting from a small folding chair for (awkward position shooting pratice) about a small and light weight stool/chair that would be comfortable to sit on when stopping for watching while still hunting. ( hope that statement made sense). I love still hunting and am tired of the sitting in the tree. But the still hunting gets my back and my neck very tired, almost to the point of moving too fast and not paying attention to the surroundings. I move very slow when still hunting. It may take me an hour to cover one acre. So a comfortable stool/chair that is easy to carry would give me a break on the back. Have any of yall die hard stillhunting folks ever use this method?

This has been discussed at length a little while ago. Do a search on hunt stools or hunting chair and you will find the info you are looking for.
I use this one and think it works well for short sits. It's extremely cheap, lightweight, and quiet. I think I bought mine at Dicks Sporting goods, but you can buy them in lots of places.

Short sits while still hunting try a Niffty Seat. I do not like a Niffty Seat for longer than 1 hour and use a trilegged seat.
I'll second the Nifty Seat for short sits, very quick and simple to set up.

I which that the made them a bit taller, but I really like the tripod swiveling seat. I think it costs around $15.
How about a Torges seat? Very easy to make, and cheap. I used one for the first time last weekend and loved it. I rigged the rope so I could loop it across my body and I couldn't tell it was there while walking.
Another vote for the Nifty seat, perfect for still hunting
We do not still hunt very often, only on a rainy windy day when it would not be safe to be up a tree. More scouting than hunting really, tons less noise in deep leaves with them wet and helps wash our scent away. We made Torges seats last year and will use them for days like this during this year.
BDann has it right, if you set your loop the right length and sling it bandloier style over your shoulder you never know it is back there ! Another reason I like a tree seat over a regular seat is you are right against a tree and more hidden with the tree behind you and the trunk for back cover if the deer approach from the front. I would not feel hidden if I was out away from a tree. We also try to sit in a clump of trees like Maples, they tend to have 2-3 trunks coming off the same stump sometimes. Or find a large tree with another smaller tree growing right beside it for more cover.

I use an old dove stool with a fold up back. Very light, packable and cheap.
I have always used a cushioned seat pad hanging from my belt or fanny pack.
As I stillhunt from place to place,it's right behind me in just the right spot if I find a conveniant rock, stump or log to plant my prosterior on.(and you don't have to carry it)
