Was able to sneak out this morning about a mile from the house. Nice area, on the ledges bordering the Hudson River.
Last week I missed a chip shot 18 yd shot at a nice red fox. Quiet morning, beautiful, the smell of fall. I couldn't believe no deer were moving through the area. It was around 9am when I figured it was time to leave and check in on mom.
One last scan of the area and I notice movement about 40 yds out. Another Fox...he was cruising along back and forth without a care in the world. Putting my hand against my mouth, I started squealing....Bingo...here he comes at a trot. He stopped about the same distance as my previous miss.
Aiming a tad lower this time my arrow found it's mark. He rolled over and ran about 20 yds before lying down. Ballgame over....Getting real warm here again for the afternoon sit. Heading back out in a half hour....

nice shot. Is that a groves spitfire?
Joe where is renegade archery? I used to live in New paltz and shot at the Pancake hollow place a few times but that was with my old wheelie bow. I sometimes visit friends in the area. I just helped put a roof on an education center by he Hudson river in Highland.

Thats my Groves Spitfire one piece. I was a Groves dealer until James Elrod decided to stop building them. My only regret is not getting a Mag II for travel. For whitetails I prefer a lightweight one piece recurve or longbow.....
