Has FAST become the nicest bow I've ever shot. She's a dream.
Bamboo core under Cocobolo. She's got an AMO of 62" with
57# @ 28".
Unfortunately there is no website. James Vanover is the boyer. It's a JV OUTBACK. The name comes from him building them in his shop OUT BACK of his house. They aren't readily available for sale either. He's been building this bow for 8 years and sells them to locals in MI and friends, but there are some around the world. He likes you to come over and shoot for a bit then talk about what you are looking for and work with you to build a bow that is right for you. He is an absolute wonderful man and full of knowledge. I was put in contact with him for strings (You want a string PM me. You can thank me later. They are incredible). I later found out he builds bows and the are awesome. I called him to tell him how nice the strings were and we just got to talking. He just happened to have the same draw length and shooting the same poundage. He called me back and the rest is history for now.
He does this as a hobby per say. He has no desire to go into a larger scale business. Just enjoys what he does and does it incredibly well. I feel very blessed to have met him and to own such a beautiful bow. I feel bad that there isn't something dead with it in the pictures YET.
If you do a tradgang search for James Vanover, you will see a few more he has made. They are beautiful.

You should send it to me, and I will put the first scratch in it for you, so that way you don't have to feel bad about it.

Chester, I already sent it to the Easter Bunny and He's going to give it to Santa Clause to send to you. :D
Fido--you are very, very, VERY fortunate to get that bow. You must have caught James at a weak moment. For him to send out a bow is maybe a 1 in 100 chance. Great bow, better strings, and a finer gentleman you will not find.
I was over there yesterday and there is a new longbow design in the works and maybe, just maybe talk of a recurve in the future.
I've got an Osage JVO and James made my son a stunning Kingwood number he can grow into. He shoots it WELL. If you look close at this picture, you can see the tom turkey (red, white, and blue) flying thru the air allowing Daniel to move on the the next round :D

Steve, I wouldn't call it fortunate.....more blessed than anything. It is such a nice bow in all aspects. The real blessing is the man behind it. I think after James and I chatted a few times, he took a liking to me and wanted me to have one. The man is incredible and I can't wait to meet him.
I've seen your osage bow.....pretty!
As a matter of fact?? I think I have a pic or two of yours.
