Title: Kohannah Kurve help..
Post by: blind one on October 28, 2009, 10:05:00 AM
I'm having trouble getting my Kohannah Kurve to quiet down. The bow is 64" 55@28" with ff string. I'm drawing 30", so the weight is around 61#. I have moved the brace height between the recommended heights and its still loud with hand shock. I'm shooting .400 spine arrows, 31.5" long with a total weight of 650gr. I moved the brace a 1/16th at a time. It was best right at 7.5, but still loud. What else can I try?....Roy

On a Kohannah Kurve I made a padded loop D97 and used bow hush with some whoolie wisps and a brace at 7.5" and it was as quiet as my longbows. It was 59#@28 and I shot Beman MFX Classic 400 with 100 gr. insert and 125 gr. point, they were around 560 grs. Some of the FF type strings are quieter then others,I have always liked D97 over some others.I feel the D97 with the bow hush did a great job of making it quiet,I miss my Kurve.

My Kurve 60# @30"- 64" also started to get loud. I put moleskin on the tips, went to B-50 and unstring it after every use. I also brace it at around 8". It's quiet now. Hope this helps

My Kurve is 64", 45# @ 29". I brace it at 7 3/4" and only have string silencers on my FF string. I shoot AD Trad Lites with 155gr total up front. It's pretty quiet with just this setup. Good luck, hope you get er quieted down.

On some of my other bows that had the old type FF on,I could tell a difference when I went to D97 on them.I feel some of the low stretch strings are quieter then some others.
