Just wondering if anyone has switched bows mid season to bring some new mojo/juju to the mix...I just made a new string for my Kajika longbow and I'm going to get it dialed in. I hunted turkeys with it this spring and shoot it great!
I can shoot them with the same arrow and broadhead combo.
Just trying to figure out what to do...something has to change. I need to bring out the rally cap!
Josh
I have several times over the years. I shoot all my bows almost exactly the same. If I keep my form good the arrow does it's job. Most days I shoot one bow a little better than the other one so it will be my go to bow, that would be the Grif.
I have been "Known to". As I'll do just about anything if I think it will help changing my luck. Got to admit though that it's probably not the smartest thing I do with alll of the practice time I have in with my Go To Bow :knothead: :wavey:
Yep. I think a switch gets us to re-focus and pay closer attention to detail. Sometimes i get complacent when shooting the same bow over and over.
Josh, I've been switching back and forth with my recurve and long bow limbs for over a month, since they both shoot the same for me,it's an easy switch! as far as mojo goes, I know what you mean, 25 days of hunting and haven't seen a deer at all, Till two days ago and now they are everywhere's, got my miss out of the way yesterday AM! Hang in there bud things are starting to heat up in the woods now!! Jim
I have but it's usually because someone buys my bow and I have to setup another one.
It's ususally not too hard though. It all else fails I just build a new one.
Mike
I have switched four times this year. I figure as long as you can hit where your aiming not really a big deal.
Does the fact I have 26 bows tell you anything...lol....!
No don't change bows, shoot the same bow.
gotta have my lucky hat, lion claw around my neck
and my lucky 8 season old underpants
just kidding about the last one :saywhat: :p
Yea, I just switched from my TT Titan to my Shrew LB, I can use the same arrows but switched to heavier heads.
I've taken 6 deer in a row (over 2 years) with the Titan and have started feeling sorry for my Shrew so I'm going to take her out to play for awhile.
Its a nice change of pace, I am re-appreciating the light graceful nature of the deadly Shrew. While still being amazed by the cool efficiency of the Titan.
No!No!No! BAD BAD JU-JU. The little gremlin critters know when something is different. They jump out of the trees and make your arrows miss. I don't even like to wash my under pants!!!

This one made me laugh a touch!

I'm about to and your the cause of it all Oliverstacy! You made such a nice string for my longbow that I'm switching over to it from the shrew. Not to mention new arrows, new fletching AND new broadheads! And it all started with YOUR string!! :-) LOL, thanks man!
We have a 12 deer limit, I've killed three with a BW PAX bocote/mammoth tusk, three with a PAX Tiger Maple and i am switching to a BW longbow with copperhead skins and if I kill three with that I guess I'll start over.
Heck, I switch bows during the middle of the day. Don't do it to change mojo, rather is dependent on the stand I'll be hunting.

Uh...sorry about that! You could just have me make a new one for you're other bow.

I like to fill tags with different bows. I have been shooting 3 different bows all summer, so I figure why not?
I had to switch, I just got a new Silvertip :goldtooth: Jason
Yea all my bows are real close in poundage so i shoot them all about the same.
The real MOJO comes from knowing your bow inside/out, and shooting it well.
Mid Season !! How about every other week !! But that's OK, Only takes my brain a few minutes to get dialed in with whatever's in my hands ....
Started my season with my Kanati longbow. Took 1 deer with it a few weeks back. Switched over to my Maddog recurve for the next one. My hubby dared me to get one with each bow this year. I practice with both all the time.
When I first found this site and the classifieds I shot 4 deer with 3 different bows in a season. Yeah I was seriously addicted to new toys!
You should take out that 60# longbow you let me shoot. Man that thing is a smooth screamer! I liked it ALOT!

I could get you a great deal on that bow! Just say the word!
Going to be back up that way on the 7th if you're interested in going!

Mid season? How about mid-afternoon? Ha!
I don't think it matters too much if you can shoot all your bows sell....There are some fellas I shoot with who come to the range with 3 or 4 bows and shoot them all the same, What's the difference if you can shoot like that?
I'm with highPlains,
I may hunt with my Black Widow longbow Friday evening and Saturday morning, then my Tomahawk longbow Saturday evening and then my Martin Serengeti on Sunday morning! ( I also take my Bear K-Mag to camp...just in case)!
i switch back and forth all the time even though i have my prefered/ when i need juju i carry buckeye my grandma gave me
