Thinking of getting a 56" bow. I know there are several 58" t/d curves out there but not many 56"...I would like one with belly mounted static tips but any other suggestions will do. Oh yes the only other requirements are that it shoots as fast and well as my 60" Predator, and is more forgiving, quiet and hits where i look(not shoot!) All at my 27" draw.
chekmate t.d hunters!!!shoot just like a 62" for me. liked the one i got so much that i have another one coming.
If it was me, there would only be one choice.......a Kwyk Styk from Jack Kempf. Shoot one and you'll know why.

I know, but i cant wait over a year. How about the next best thing?
how about that new widow.. i saw a post about it not long ago. i believe it had a shorter than normal riser..it really looked sharp
gaff
Kwyk Styk!! Talk to Joe Skipp or Guru!
Whisperstik Kajika. Very fast and smooth at much longer draws than 27". I have a 56" mojo and it is the best curve I have had to date. I sold my 60" Predator.
Shawnee, Cheyenne or ILF. ILF will go to 52" at your draw.
Shoot some short bows first to see if you like them....I dont shoot them well(fingerpinch..... my release gets sloppy). My 60" predator is about as short as I like to shoot.
Check out the Dryad Orion 'curve as well...
I'll go with Bob and at this time he is not at a year wait. I ordered a 56" Shawnee September 23rd . Asked Bob what his lead time was his answer "WE WILL START TOMORROW", :saywhat:
Keep em comin......
I have owned some of the bows listed above. The BlackWidow PSA works for me, I like the high brace height and riser weight of the PSAs. Lots of great bows out there, hope you find the one thats best for you.
Jack Kempf Kwyk Styk , with the Static limb design.Absolutely in credible Bow!!
Black Swan is an option also for a 56"
I have ended up being another "longbow guy" but I've owned a Toelke t.d. recurve and one of his newer 1 pc. Chinooks. Both are great recurves, beautifully made in 56" and other lengths, smooth, fast (the Chinook especially so, particularly with heavy arrows) and exceptionally QUIET! I believe your draw length can be accomodated by dan's 54" t.d. but verify that. The website is www.montanabows.com (http://www.montanabows.com) and you can see some of both bows by clicking on current inventory.
Ive also heard great things about the Kwick Stik, and would like to shoot one some day. What I have shot, is a RER Arroyo in 54"
No finger pinch with its static tip design, smooth and fast. Not a TD, but for the price, and availability, I think it worth it.
Kind Regards
RER has a TD recurve in 56" with static tips.
Wish I had one In left hand
The Fedora 560 is a great bow.
Our Orion T/D curve will be reviewed in the next TBM. Early numbers are very good but I can't tell you til the magazine come out otherwise Blacky will skin me. LOL
At the price you will not find a better shooting curve.
Mike
Black swan is a belly mount and is FASTER than the predator. I think you should try one.
Bear A Handle with #1 limbs.
Theres a 56" TD static with 2 sets of limbs in the classifieds
Morrison mini-14 ILF, cannot beat it, in my opinion.
I havent shot a lot of curves but I had a 56" Morrison (Pre-Cheyenne) and I still kick myself to this day for selling it. It was a sweet shooter and perty dang quick too!
i also say go with the whisperstick. I have a 56" mojostick and it quickly became my favorite.
Without a doubt a Kwyk Styk is worth a one year wait! It's everything you desire and more.......
I have a 56" whisperstick kajikastyk. Fast, smooth, and quiet. I draw 30" and no finger pinch or stack. It's 52 @ 28" and 56.5 @ 30". Quick turn around and the purtiest bow I have had.
Any pro / cons on the smaller sight window?
I have a Fred Bear Custom TD, "A" handle with #1 limbs. That makes it a 56" bow and it shoot exactly the same as my 60" Predator. These are my 2 goto bows for hunting anything. You can see the windows are very much the same.
