well i have been definitly paying my dues in putting my time in. have saw 14 deer so far with shot oportunities twice that i passed on. spent most of the morning in a down pour pulling and moving stands soaked to the bone! just can't shake the feeling that tommorrow is the day! i have 2 places that have a LOT of deer. one a good morning hunt and the other a evening hunt. between the 2 i believe i am going to spill some blood!!!!! sleep will not come easy tonight though i am exahusted. allways have room for another if anyone would like to join.
Good luck Ken! What bow ya using?
i want to take my first trad deer with War Dog the bow Joe Weed made for me. its a specail bow made by a good friend and means a lot to me, i would like to honor the bowyer by taking a deer with it. she Beast is waiting in the wings though and a can hear a low snarl coming from the bow rack, she ain't happy less shes huntin! due time!
Ken,
I have read many of your posts. I commend you for your non selfness act of inviting others to join you hunting. It's rare these days as most seem only interested in keeping everything to themselves. Also I am impressed with your honest emotions of hunting (regardless of whether you are chasing a button buck, doe or mature buck) Way too many are only concerned about killing a Trophy Book Deer and forget that they are all trophies and gifts.
Best of Luck with your hunt and please keep posting,
Brian
Good luck tomorrow hopefully your instincts are right on. What part of the Adirondacks are you from? I was stationed out of FT. Drum with the 10th Mtn Div in the early 90's. I loved the country up there although I didn't have much downtime to enjoy it.
Jim
best of luck bro
Best Of Luck To Ya Ken! Don't worry about She Beast. Just give her a wink ;) on your way out the door. She'll understand.

Buffalo,
i have been blessd with good health, friends and family, ANYTHING else is just icing on the cake. i truly wish people could feel what i feel when i'm in the woods. i hunt in beautifull places that EVERYONE should get a chance to hunt. i have never killed anything with trad archery but have been VERY, VERY lucky in my youth with rifle and smoke pole. i feel NO pressure to kill a big buck, allways nice but not why i'm out there. would i like to shoot a slammer with long bow? OF COURSE i would but i am out there to feed my soul not my stomach. to carry on a tradition long past. to take my place in the food chain as a predator. to walk in the beauty of Grandmother earth..... here i am go rammbling again sorry!
i have room for YOU anytime this week and have stands in place, come on down and help me chase around a few deer.
Appreciate the offer. Unfortunatly travel is not in cards for me currently.
I do think you have your priorities straight and it's a pleasure reading about your hunts.
God Bless
May your arrow fly true and your blood trail be short!
Can't wait to hear the story and see your pictures!!
Best of luck!!!
We can do everything right, paying attention to every last detail, and sometimes it comes down to something extra special that is totally out of our control.
I love that part. :campfire:
my buddy Bowspirit will be there with me for the hunt. bring any lucky trinket ya have bro! i am bringing MANY small things that were gifted to be by members here, it will be a crowded treestnad with all of ya there in spirit! it has been pouring NON_STOP all day and in to tonight. going to stop before morning i can only guess this will put the deer on the move in the morning. mi have a fresh scrape by both stands we will be in, i am hoping the ole boy will want to re-freshen them after the rain.
Wind is supposed to be out of the West in the morning. I'll be out too. Hunting the west shore of the Hudson River. I'll be thinking of you guys!
What's the name of the area you'll be in Ken? I'd like to find it on the satellite.
