Had a doe come in to a can call this a.m. I was surprisingly calm. She was facing to my left, broadside at about 12 yards. I calmly drew, hit anchor, and with her jumping the string, promptly shot 4" over her back.
I surprised myself when I chuckeled out loud! I thought to my self, "the only thing you forgot to do was pick a spot smaller than her whole ribcage!".
I had opted for the 160 snuffer tipped carbon gt 35/55 instead of my stone tipped rivercane. I guess that is good.
I called her back 3 times but not within range.
Tomorrow is another day my brother. Good Luck.
My buddy missed 2 does tonight!
I keeping saying - its gravity swells.
I have had it happen to me; perfect shot; deer doesn't get hit; the arrow is drug down low by the heavy gravity and then shots over are due to the lessened gravity in the swells.
This missing cannot be our fault.
I shot under one for the same reason last night.
