I'm posting around hoping to find someone that can answer this so I can have a string made for the bow I just got. I wanna shoot it! :help:
58-1/2" sound right? Thats the info from Trap
If you are using a flemish twist, buy one 3" shorter (59") and twist it to preferred brace; your preferred brace, that is.
Bow is 60" long, should have said that before I guess.
If you buy a pre-stretched string, I'd go with 56.5", if it isn't pre-stretched 56" (for an old Bear bow that is 60" AMO)

Highlandwarrior, If your bow is 60", it must not be a 1957 Grizzly. Here is a page from the 1957 Bear Archery catalog. The Grizzly was only offered in 62" in 1957. If you can post pics of the bow, we may be able to help you date it accurately.
