I was looking for a safer way to file my broadheads and came up with this. A plain old utility knife. It works perfect on 2 blade heads. All you have to do is take the blade out and tighten it back together with a broadhead in the end. It works just like a clamp when using a file or flat stone. I didnt do a search, so if somebody else has posted this I apologize.....Roy

I'm nominating you for a Nobel Peace Prize!!!
...wait, was that a political joke? (slowly cowers back into the shadows)
Seriously, great idea!
Patent pending yes ? Nice improvising
It was given to a Political Joke!
Now, just find a way to mount a roller under it and you'll have a home made KME style sharpener!
That's an excellent idea for sharpening heads that aren't attached to arrows. Very creative.
neat idea!!
Good idea but vice grips will do same thing and you don't have to unscrew/screw back up every time.
geat idea. i will have to try that

Dave, do you have any trouble with the bigger side of the vice grip jaws getting in the way? Never tried it but almost seems like they would prevent getting the right angle unless maybe you use the needle nose type?
I tried the vice grips, but I was worried about the grooves marking up the blades. The utility knife covers more area and when you rotate the knife it doesnt get in the way...Roy
I always used a broken off tapered shaft, glad I broke that one arrow that one time,(YEAH RIGHT).
Great idea, you should submit it to TBMagazine.
Neat idea, Bill!
Here's another good tip: try an Arrow Grabber (3Rivers has them): THE best thing I've ever found for file sharpening a head already on an arrow shaft.
