Title: new string
Post by: LongStick64 on October 22, 2009, 07:09:00 PM
Is it possible for a string to make a bow feel softer on the draw cycle. I just got my new strings from Three Tree Strings. When I shot my bow with a D97 endless loop string I made up, the bow felt a little stack while I reached my anchor. After replacing it with the new string, a three bundle, D97, flemish twist,  half inch shorter brace height, bow felt significantly better. No stack and a much softer feel. Guess I'm out of the string making business, lol.

A new string really helped my shooting out significantly. I was amazed by the difference a string can make.

I believe the answer is in your post.

Quotehalf inch shorter brace height,
A well made string can make a difference in performance, noise, etc. vs. a poorly made string, but how the string is made won't affect the draw force curve--the length can though.

Thanks Chad, I was wondering the same thing, sometimes it's the little things that turn out to be the big ones.
