Title: PSR Problems
Post by: Ladams on October 21, 2009, 01:42:00 PM
My buddy just xcalled and told me his widow psr is throwing the string when he draws,  sometimes off the top limb sometimes off the bottom limb, he tells me he has checked all the obvious problems such as twisted limbs ect. I told him I would post it here and see if anyone has any ideas!!!!!!!!!
     thanks

Probably a bend or crack in the limb, the wise one's here will definitely know what's up for sure.Their is more knowledge here than you can get in any library.Good luck with it.

String loops are tight enough?  Did he just put a new one on, or did this suddenly develop with the old string?
I'm hoping for his sake that is all it is because the other reasons are not as good.

I had the same thing happen to my Bruin.  I strung it up did a couple of short draws to make sure it was set.  Got up in the tree stand, drew back to full draw and then wham.  My bow is 15 ft below me on the ground.

I know my limbs are not cracked, or twisted.  It does have bow hush on the the string near loops.  I have not tried a new string yet. I was thinking some how the loops loosened up. or the hush was making the string slip.

Havein the bow fly out your hand is quite the eye opener.

Call Black widow, they are good folks and are more than willing to help, even if you did'nt buy the bow from them.

Could it be the diameter of the string loop maybe to thick,to many strands? did he use a synthetic wax on them?

when I first got my psr, when I would pull back but not release. the string was off the grove on one lime, so I called BW and they ask if i had the sure grip, and if so, put some power on my hand and don't grip the riser so tight. it will make the bow twist. low and behold, it worked. the sure grip and the sweet on our hand don't mix. thats my 2 cents

That is interesting. Sounds like you checked out the obvious. Let us know what you find out. I owned a PSR with no issues. I have full confidence in the Black Widow people.
