Title: Rack of Howatts
Post by: Hatrick on October 18, 2009, 06:42:00 PM
My bows have been hiding in a dark room for too long so I just finished a couple of bow racks to display them. This rack is for my Howatts. Top to bottom: (not positive on the (?) dates)

1. 1980 Hunter 48#@28"- first new bow I ever bought. Shot my first couple of bow kill deer with this bow so It's a bit special. I'll probably do a refinish job on it here soon.
2. 1998 Hunter 50#@28"
3. 1995 Purpleheart Hunter 50#@28" - My newest. Thanks Cameron
4. 1978(?) Monterey 49#@28" This one will go to the woods with me the next couple of weeks.
5. 1974(?) Super Diablo 45#@28"
6. 1971(?) Coronado 45#@28" with green Gordon glass.
7. 1962 Diablo 50#@28" white glass
8. 1974(?) Diablo 45#@28"
9. 1984 Hi Speed 45#@28"

Which one shoots the best? If you had to pick one you could keep and the rest were gone...which is the one you'd keep?

Snag, each one has their own special attributes but if I was really hurting and could only keep one, I'd have to go with the Monterey (4th down from the top).

I recently took all the finish off the riser taking it down to the bear brazilian rosewood, repaired a couple of holes, and put some micarta on the tips. It's just so smooth and quick with a great grip.

I recently picked up a Matador that looks like it belongs in that stack.
