Title: We forgot so much
Post by: Broken ArrowNB on October 18, 2009, 02:30:00 PM
After all the don't list on other forums, I feel I am home, feet up and keyboard clicking. Autumn colors light my living room view but I am not in the woods this year.
I just recently got back my traditional bows from court order storage and have not bowstrings. Yes, vendors are many but I have forgotten the principle of measure for ordering bowstrings. Could anyone plse suggest a good longbow rule of thumb for cord length as to bow length and quality flemish cords. ( I believe that is what it is called for interlocked string nocks. as to multi-strand bowlopes) Thanks for all replies and suggestions..  :knothead:

Measure string nock to string nock across belly of bow, then order a string 3 inches shorter and twist to the brace you like.  Pretty simple actually.
