An animal I'd luv to hunt....congrats
Congrats. Well earned trophy.
Very nice!! Congrats!! Joe
nice one.
Good one !
Congratulations Griz, that is a great Sika!
That is one of the toughest animals to hunt. Probably harder to hunt than a whitetail in some peoples opinion.
Sika deer seem to have eyes behind there head! :saywhat:
Are non-resident tags still around $120?
Those lil dudes are definately on my list! Nice job!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Good one, way to stick it out in the rain, no pun intended!
BTW, I believe that is a sika deer, not a sitka deer.
GURU, THANK YOU FOR FIXIN THE PICTURE I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT,GRAB YOUR CHESTWADERS AND COME GIVE IT A TRY. JOE D YES NON-RESIDENT IS STILL ABOUT 120 BUCKS. RESIDENT CAN TAKE 2 WITH BOW 2 BLACKPOWDER & 2 WITH GUN.
SLIVRSLINGR, YES,IT IS A SIKA DEER. WE HAVE THEM HERE IN MARYLAND'S EASTERN SHORE ON PUBLIC GROUND,I CHASE THESE LITTLE MARSH ELK FOR 4 MONTHS EVERY YEAR AND I AM ADDICTED.
Congrats!!!
Those Sitka are lightning quick and tough to hunt. Big thumbs up
Griz, Good job and congrats to you...They are fun little buggers to hunt...Hey "Herdbull" Mike Mitten needs to see this pic cause about a month ago I was telling him we have these guys all over Dorochester Co. and Assateque Island and once you start hunting them you're hooked....Curt if you ever get the chance swing on over here and hunt them on Assateque...Or by the time you retire they might have migrated that far :archer: Heck they are only a hop, skip and a jump away...Bring plenty of arrows cause they can spook quickly...God Bless, Keefer's <")))><
Very nice, well-done!
congrats indeed!!!
I'm dying to give them a try but it seems all of the guys I know that have hunted them in the past don't go any more. Not that far away for me to drive....just sucks not to have any company. Nice stag. I hear they taste unbelieveable.
Congrats
Congrats.
Good job!
My wife makes sure I go after them at least once a year. She thinks it's easy, just go over the bay bridge and kill one and be back in the evening. Well, she's wising up since I haven't done that since Jan. of 2008. She makes a pretty mean hot and sweet stew.
That looks like a lot of fun! One day I'll have a look at one. Great job!
Charlie
that is AWESOME... A hunt I soon Plan to do!!
Nice Sika. Where did you get him? And yes they are hard to hunt...mostly nocturnal, live in heavy marsh, small in stature, don't follow trails like whitetail.
Congrats. :clapper:
REDDOGGE, I hunt blackwater or fishing bay all public land.the big 6 point stags are a little tuffer to get on public land (no feeders).last year i played cat & mouse with a big stag for a week, had him at 60 yards 2 times just to far of a shot.if your butts not wet, your not in the right place, most of the time.GRIZ
