Hello all,
I recently was in a hunting store and found 5 old cedar arrows with Panther IV broadheads for sale for $20. I bought them as wallhangers but when I got home I shot a few of them and found they shot great out of my 48# Bob Lee recurve. I sharpened them up and am going to try and get a deer this year with them. I'm going to try and post pics. I have never heard of these broadheads but they seem to be like Zwickey's. Thanks for entertaining my thoughts.

I love using old stuff!
I'm hunting with a '59 Bear Grizzly, using Bear Razorheads from '57, and cedar arrows from the late '50's.
Good luck with them.
Jim,
They were made in 1957 by Smith Archery from Saginaw, Mich.
Thanx, Shep
Shep,
Thanks for the info. They sharpened up well and hopefully my aim will be true. The season just started in Mass but I usually wait til November to start chasing them hard.

Jim, if you look around, there are a LOT of Zwickey look alikes. Same with Case heads. Must tell you something.

Jim, you sealed the deal when you said Goal! It will happened!
Whenever I set a goal, it focuses energy to acheive such, and usually do.
I saw this recently when my Goal was to take a deer with my first set of cane arrows. Goal met, last Saturday. Good shootin, and let us know when it happens! Steve
shoot a deer several years ago with an arra nearly as old as me-52. hunting this year with some older arra's.
Just got out of the woods after a great afternoon hunt. Was in my stand at 3:08 pm and at 3:25 had a spike buck come through but never gave me a good shot. Within the next hour I saw 3 more deer, all does, but again no shots. One doe was about 15 yds out but only presented me with a frontal shot which I passed on.
This is a new stand I set up last week with my 8 yr old daughter. I call it "Bee Sting Quinn" stand after my daughter because she somehow got a bee down her shirt when we were hanging the stand and got bit a couple of times. A trip to the store on the way home and about $5.00 worth of candy and drinks later she was feeling fine.
Third time out this week in Mass and the first deer I've seen. Should be a great season.
Jim
