Well guys, I killed my first traditional buck last night. I killed a doe last year, but was not able to seal the deal on a buck.
But last night was a different story. He is nothing huge, but I am very happy with him. I was using a 53# zipper shooting easton axis arrrows tipped with steelforce broadheads. The shot was about 16 yards and I took out both lungs. Somehow, there was very little for a bloodtrail and he went over 500 yards. I was seriosly questioning my shoot, but we ended up finding him. I got the whole thing on video and will upload the vid once I get it edited. (http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/aje138/P1130633.jpg)

congratulations on a fine trophy!
Congrats :archer:
Awsome!
Beats my first trad buck which was a three pointer, but hey not to many guys can hit a target with trad gear where I come from let alone a three pointer or that dandy buck you got there. I shot my first trad buck at 7 yards and it was better than anything ever.
Got me hooked for sure! Congrats!
Thanks guys. I had told myself that I wasnt going to hold out for monster this year, and I couldnt have been any happier than I was when I saw a white belly laying in the field. It is not big enough to mount, but I am going to try to do something with it.
Well done!
Congrats, nice buck.
Great looking buck!A skull mount would look cool, if you dont want a shoulder mount. What is that black THING on the side of your beautiful bow? :p

yeah, the Selway does steal some looks from the bow, but I always lay the bow down on the quiver so that I dont ding anything up on the bow. It is kind of like my protective cover. one of these days I need to have you make me a quiver to match my bow.
GREAT BUCK. CONGRATS!!!
Aaron, you know I was just teasing you.Right.Congrats again.I would love to see your video.
Bill
great looking buck and that is a sharp looking bow!

yeah, I know.I do need to have you make me a quiver sometime, just to jazz up my photos some. I have to edit the video and uploads, which may take some time. But I will post a link here once I do.
Awesome! I hope to get my first trad deer this year myself.
great trophy IMO ...... hey, which Steel Force heads? I have a pack of the 225 gr single bevels and you've got me a tad worried about them now!
nice job Aaron!
Thanks guys, they were the 125 grain sabertooth with bleeder blades. I would assume it was a fluke that he ran that far, but I was still very suprised he made it that far.
Nice job Aaron!
A european mount will look awesome and you can do anything with it from mounting on a wall to setting on a shelf.
Don
Way to go Aaron! Muleys beware.
I shot through the lungs (high on one side, low on the other, 8 yard shot I imagine) on a buck last fall that ran all of 300-400 yards with both lungs shot out as well. 3 blade Thunderheads was what I had
these Steel Force single bevel 225's are big son of a gun heads - maybe they'll do better
you did get complete pass through right ?
Congratulations!!
Gary
Super!!
Congrats. This time next year you'll remember it like it was yesterday. Enjoy.
Great job, nothing like doing it the right way!
WTG! Congratulations!!!
