Well, I have a bone to pic with Larry of Lost Nation Archery. Here he sent me these wonderful feathers and nocks to finish up my chundoo shafts and the shaft breaks!
Here's before

And see what happens when I put his feathers on?

Damn arrow hey! I expect we'll see pictures of what broke that arrow soon?
So there I was minding my own business up in a tree enjoying the pretty fall foliage. (you can see better that way)

And here comes a doe. I stand up and get ready as she is about 30yds out. Luckily I stood up quickly as no sooner than I move my Widow into position a different doe appears coming straight at me!
She turns at literally 10 yards and the 125gr glue on Snuffer makes very short work of her.

She bounds off a little and stands there. She gets wobbley and walks another bit and falls over. She went 40 whole yards and I watched it all from my stand.

Perfect shot tight behind the shoulder. (it ought to be that close!) Huge gash thru the heart and both lungs.
I used my newly aquired Black Widow PSA II 56@28(I pull 30), 31" chundoo shafts from Bill Carlsen that I laquered last weekend and fletched last night.
Good times and meat in the freezer!

Nice Doe.

Well done!
Eric
I like broken arrows when there's backstraps involved. :D
Congrats.
I like your staining methods! Its too bad you can't do a dozen at a time.
Congrats Bro  :clapper:
I have been getting a DNA rush with deer for over half a century; and still getting a shot at a doe and making it work is a great thing.
***MAN! LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE EARS ON THAT ONE!**
Congrats on your shot; your deer; and its just to bad that arrow couldn't work without breaking :)
 :archer:
Congrats....Hope I have a defective one in my quiver....
congrats
Way to go,
BLOODY, BROKEN OR LOST
the way I like my arrows.
Thanks all.
It's funny Brian, I was cool as a cucumber until I looked up and thought about taking the shot on the other doe. She was standing there 25yds out thinking, "What on earth is wrong with her?" I started shaking and thought "That'll do!" and just watched her instead.
She was a 1 and a half year old doe I think and did have pretty big ears! I got between 40-45lbs of meat off her. Not bad. mmm!
You know I think that a different frame of mind could be used here. That arrow is not so much ruined. I would be thinking of it as well used with it purpose served.
Congrats man.
Well-done!
Congrats!!!!
 :clapper:
Well I think I would...Uh.....Uh.........order some more fletching!! Congrats.
Great job Matt, Man at 30" I bet that widow is smokin that shaft. Great shot now go bust some of those tree buzzards. Love those Indiana woods absolutely beautiful up there in the fall.
T.J.
now thats an awesome way to stuff an arrow up for sure congrats!! about the woods well that sounds good as i hope to find out next year
You don't want to become too attached to wood arrows. They are expendable and that is the very best way to expend them.
Nice congrats! TD.
Dang I'm jealous. I'm yet to collect my first doe with my stickbow. ;) Looks like a great way to ruin a good stand. ;) ;) ;)
:clapper:
Yea thats too bad.Maby you should try carbons! :D

Thanks for sharing. Very nice pics to tell the story. Joe
Well worth the investment. I've yet to even see a deer.
Geez! Cheap arrow. I'd get my money back.
:D
Nice story and congrats!!
Varmint needn't worry.....plenty more shafts where those came from.!!!!!!!! Nice job....good shot!
Congrats
:clapper:
Shame ain't it? Shafts should last longer. Well done.
