Title: 1 Piece recurve into 2 piece?
Post by: kahunter on October 10, 2009, 09:47:00 PM
Can you make a 1 piece recurve into a 2 piece like a longbow, or is there something different about them that would prevent it?

If it is doable, what takedown system would you recommend, and who could do it?  I don't know if I would want to tackle it myself.

Thanks.

I have done 2 bows using the brass sleeve-yes it works-my advice? If you love the bow and how it shoots leave it alone; or you could have a professional install a bow bolt. That will cost you in the neighborhood of 300.00 total. JMHO

I would get a Robertson Conexxion hinge done, Robertson wont do it but I think Belcher will ,a sponsor here. I had a bow bolt in a Horne Traditionalist longbow and it came apart in mid-draw....... That was scary !  But I'm with Bjorn, if you like it leave it alone and buy a bow with it already installed.
