Title: Arrow help

I just got an older Bear Cub longbow for my wife. It says its 33#. But I am not sure @ what draw. My wifes draw is 21 1/2 inch. I am going to cut the arrows down to 22 1/2 inch. I want to buy wood arrows. What size feild points should I buy? All she is going to do with the bow is taget practice.
Please help with spine and field point weight.

The lightest 5/16th shafts you can buy.  She will be pulling less than 25 pounds.  The Cub is weighed at 28".  You may even do well with some 1/4" shafts if you can find them.  Some distributors do carry them for kids.

I would consider leaving the arrows longer, say 27 or 28". It will be much easier to find arrows in a spine that will fly well (I'd guess 30# w/100 or 125 grn tips) and its easier to point a longer arrow. 1/4" dowels from the lumber yard (pick straight ones from the bin and flex them to check for grain run off that will cause them to break) may be about right. You can also order cedar 5/16" shafts in 30# spine.
