Just got my first long bow today. A great new friend from Wyoming helped get me set up with a Morrison Dakota. Shot close to 100 arrows tonight (finger tips are tingly) and can't believe how enjoyable it is. Have bowhunted hard for years with a compound and looking forward to this new challenge. And from learning from all of you here.
Will have to stick with the wheeled bow until I build confidense but think my shot is going to come around quick. Was shoting good groups out to 20 yards tonight!!!
So.. First trad bow and first post to all you new trad friends!!!

Thanks for the welcome!!!
You'll be selling the wheelbow soon enough. This place certainly shortens the learning curve. Not enogh can be said about the great info and great people. Now get ready for some real fun! Welcome.
If you will limit your shots to 20yds and under you will do just fine. Most of the deer i have killed with a bow have been 15yds or under, perfect distance with a stick bow.
Welcome aboard!
Welcome new tradster! Your genuine excitement is contageous.
"Confidense"? Webster's - "presumed mechanical advantage".

If you are into fishing, your compound will make an excellent boat anchor. Not only that, but if it gets hung up on the bottom you won't feel bad about cutting the rope!
Shoot both a Morrison Dakota and a Morrison Shawnee Dakota. You are starting off with one of the best bows out there. Enjoy!!!
Welcome
