how do ya keep the glasses from steaming up when ya got a face mask on, the camo paint thing is a pain cause ya can't get it off, and it doesn't help a bit with skeeters and or cover up the shine of the glasses, face nets just steam up...unless of course I quit breathing.....so what are you all doing????
Had that problem the first four days of season. Got contacts on day five. Still getting used to it... so far, so good.
I use burnt cork for camo, it's cheap and it comes off real easy. When my father in law was alive he use to take a pair of clip on sunglasses and pop the lens out of them and sew them into the headnet. for some reason it would help with the fogging.
ANTI FOG FOR GLASSES WAL-MART IT HELPS
I do what Stone Knife said! I've used facemask's but can't feel the corner of my mouth! the paint is a pain, but the cork works real good!! Jason
I vote with Bear - the only thing I've ever found that actually works is contacts.
For anti-fog help, I know this sounds dumb but polish your glasses with toothpaste (don't use gel or anything weird - just plain old toothpaste). It *really* helps and it's cheap.
For camouflaging your face, (my son hates this but what does he know - heh) I like a bandanna. When I don't need it, he hangs out of the way, but when I do - just pull it up bandit style and it works great.
The coldcream based camo is much easier to get off than the grease based but sweats off easier too
I now use Carbomask - much easier clean up and does not feel like bacon fat on my skin.
I gave up on face masks because of excessive fogging.

I like carbomask too. It's a little pricey but it works good. Comes off really easy with water too. It also cleans your face, doesn't stink cause the activated charcoal
Believe it or not the toothpaste thing works. Where can a guy get the carbomask?
grow a beard
darn it Beaver. You stole mine.LOL
I have found that regular non-scented wet wipes (equate) from Wal-mart works great to take off H.S. camo make-up from the face. Comes off e-a-s-y. Been using it over 12 years now with no problems.
Got me curious about carbomask though. . .
Cut a hole in the mouth of the mask.
Grow the biggest beard you can. Don't worry about what the wife says, it's all to put some food on the table.
I went to contacts also.I started using a spandoflage mask and you can cut holes any where you want in it. Ben
I use the Spandoflage and like Ben said you can cut a small hole and enlarge till it fits you,I don't like looking thru the netting so I cut a slot at eyeglass level makes for a clear veiw and your breath keeps the rest of face warm. I hunt from ground and have yet to spotted because of glasses in veiw.
MARK
I pull the mask down just below my nose since the problem is mostly from the breath funneling up on each side of the nose.I know the nose is still exposed.Might just camo your nose a bit.I pull my Boonie style hat down very low so not much is exposed.I also try to force my breath downward and that helps a bit.
I think contacts are the way to go and need to get some.just cant afford it right now.
The jurry might be out on the contacts after all. Causing headaches and my eyes are having a hard time adjusting to feeling that, well... like there's something in my eyes.
I hear this is normal at first. I really want it to work. Probably check back with the doc later this week if it keeps up.
Hope this is on topic. Seems to be, in this case.
I tried the beard, but mine is snow white and if I try darkening it my wife gets suspicious, thinks maybe I'm out hunting more than deer.
I wore hard contact lens for quite a few years,w/o any problems but the Dr. recommended I switch to soft ones. I assume those are what you are trying Bear. When I went to the soft lens, I worked up to about 8 hours per day with them, but almost immediately they felt like there was sand grit or something in them. Steadily, the amount of time I could stand them dropped. When I reached two hours per day, I gave up on them.
I had eye surgery in 1995, and that was pretty good until I hit my fifties, now I need reading glasses - which I would have needed anyways. Also, in low light conditions, I need some light prescription. Nothing is perfect I guess, except youthful eyes.

Google up Parkers Perfect. Great stuff. I often wondered why the plastic facemasks that some football players use to protect their eyes never fogged up. The answer was Parkers Perfect.

Cut a hole for your nose, too.
Thanks, Gary. I only made it about an hour today. Hope to get it worked out, but I'll certainly be looking into Parkers either way.
I can't wear a beard or mustache when shooting. For some reason, every time I let go of the string it tears out a few hairs. It plays hell with concentration. Gary
Grow a beard AND get contacts! Works for me... Don
What Tom said, I cut a hole in all my masks when I were one.
Tracy
don't wear the face mask until you reach your stand and your body has cooled a little. You can also cut a hole for your nostril's and mouth.Try spitting on your glasses we do that when we snorkel it works.bass pro has a ghillie type mask that is not thick and I wear polypropylene mask under that when its cold. When its hot I also wear x-scent face mask it's light breathable and covers your scent.Good Luck!!
I heard somewhere that buffing plain toothpaste(not the gel stuff) into the lenses works great. I used it on my glasses before I got >contacts< and it worked pretty well. I still use it on my paintball masks.
I guess they didn't like my comment about being a "Mouth breather" truth is, I had a deviated septum and could only breath through one nostril and on a good day about 20% of the other.
I had it fixed and now breathe like I should and the issue of lens fogging has flat gone away..
I'll bet most of you that have fogging issues have some form of breathing obstruction forcing you to mouth breathe.(At least some of the time)
Most insurance companies cover the surgery and it's well worth the investment to anyone that has the issue.
hopefully the contacts work out for you, I made the switch to contacts and love them, I too had to slowly get used to them, but now Im glad I did !
Try this after your net shower take shaving cream (barbasol) and put it on the mirror and rub it in,then wipe it off with a paper towel keep the door closed and run the shower on hot.the glass will not fog up! then try this with your glasses in the bathroom.Good luck
Carbomask is really good stuff. Just google it. The guy that makes it is a good guy. His name is Bob Ray. He'll let you order by phone or email and just sends you a bill. Good stuff
This problem is the number one reason that I switched to contacts years ago. I have rarely regretted the decision.
Put a little liquid dishwashing soap on your glasses. Polish the lenses and you will be nicely suprised. Very hard to fog up.
