Hey guys, just got back from my annual opening week deer hunt and had an awesome week. I took the following deer all with a Holm-Made River Runner 48#, 43# at my draw. I used GT 3555 shafts full length, tipped with a WW on the business end for a total arrow weight of 432 gr.
9/27 eve. 25 yds.

10/2 eve. 16 yds

10/4 morn. 18 yds.

Took this fine young doe tonight with my trusty River Runner, GT 3555 470 gr. arrow weight, tipped with a G-5 Montec. She was 12 yards and only went 45 yds. after the shot. No one around to take a pic so it is what it is.

10/21 15 yds. same set-up as last doe.

Thanks for the congrats guys this is truly a dream season. Arrow K-9 I did shoot the last 3 from 1 stand that I moved in a pouring down rain storm and wind on wednesday. J car 315, yes that is a FHFH hat and these 4 were for me, I will take 1 or 2 more to donate to that great program.
Pitbull!
Congrats!! Fine shooting there!!
Noticed you are wearing First Lite wool clothing, How do you like that stuff?
Is is scratchy? Does it dry quickly? Durable?
Thanks
chris <><
Pitbull, More congrats!!! FHFH is an awesome organization which was founded by a gentleman from the area I live. I have heard him speak a number of times and it gives me chills. Great way to help others to say the least.
Very nice buck!!
Good work. You need a hunting buddy?
Nice Job!
I'd say you're off to a good start this season :)
Congrats!
Bryan
holy smoke slow the man down! :clapper:
 :clapper: :clapper:
jcar314 my hunting buddy and I try to donate at least 1 deer a piece to FHFH I wish the county I live in had a program sponsor, I end up going 3 counties south to donate. Onions, that First Lite wool is not scratchy at all, just need to wash it once before the first time you wear it, as far as durability it is not as tough as virgin wool, it does dry quickly, have not been smelled or picked wearing it yet!
Lol - hope you have a big freezer. Great job!
Nice work Larry. I wondered why the Ohio river had a red cast to it that week downstream here, now I know.
Congrats. I can't wait to get to Ohio.
Awesome! Well-done!
Holy cow, I think you filled all your tags in one week. Awesome job and good shooting. Nice buck.
I wish I was even hunting that many times so far. Congrats on all deer and Nice buck.
It is an awesome season!
Can someone explain what the FHFH program is about? Sounds interesting!
What a season you are having...Congrats
A buddy of mine will probably not get out much this year and wanted a young doe for the freezer so I filled his order with this tender vittle.
Well, I guess everybody else in Ohio can go home now as all the deer are dead! Nice buck. Time to fire up the sausage stuffer and jerky gun. ;)
Brother, you got too much free time! I'm envious. :notworthy:
Thats some great shooting pitbull. How long have you been shooting a stickbow and how often do you practice and how do you practice. Im new to trad archery (7 months) and i missed 2 deer opening weekend and i practice a LOT.
Im just trying to absorb as much information as possible so that i can become lethal with a stickbow.
Wowzer! You must have a biiiig freezer!
joevan125, sent you a pm.
Fritz, I have 2 freezers.
I thought someday I might be lucky enough to a whitetail, but I guess I will rule out your state!
:notworthy: :notworthy:
Wow! Now that is a heckuva season and it's still early.
Congrats on the great year, but what are you gonna do for the rest of the year now that you're tagged out?
 :campfire:
Gordon, I'm not tagged out I hunt both zone B&C. That is a total of 10. If I have the opportunuty I may take 1 more to donate to FHFH and be done.
I didn't think that you could do that unless you were using urban permits. I thought that if you killed two in zone b you could only kill four in zone c for example. Any combination up to 6 deer no matter where you took them.
Gordon, I know there is a lot of confusion about the regs with the use of antlerless permits. There is no urban permit anymore, in urban zones the antlerless permits have taken their place. The regs. change annually and it is basically as easy as keeping up on them each season if you hunt all three zones plus the urban zone your total bag limit can be 18. It is all broken down in the regs. I know I hunt with an officer.
