Bought a couple bows that have been painted. What do you suggest to take it off with out hurting the finish?

Not sure how to get it off and save the finish... I bought one like that once, and I just sanded the whole bow, then rubbed a Tru Oil finish on it.. Several coats, with #0000 steel wool between coats. Came out purdy!!!

Anything that eats paint will mar/eat your finish. Best to refinish the bow all the way.

the only thing I use is 100% acetone finger nail polish remover. You may have to use a scotch-brite pad with the acetone which should remove the paint and not harm the finish. If the finish is really bad I would do as mentioned above and go with total restotation.bd

Like Bowdoc says, use a scotchbrite pad, ruff up the surface, then apply the acetone, kind of saturate, let sit a little and wipe away.  The scotchbrite breaks the outer layer, skin to let the acetone do the work. Good shootin, Steve
