That's how I shoot.  Seems to work best for me.

I went to Rick Ellis' shop a while back (Striker Bows) and shot some different bowss he makes and he was giving my advice on form and technique. He suggested I try cock feather in and I've been shooting that way ever since.

I've been playing around with it. I cant really tell any difference in arrow flight.   Arrows flyn like darts both ways.  As long as arrows fly well. Go for it.

I've shot that way for the last three years....arrows always flew fine, but no feather wear this way...that's the only reason I do it...

I've got one bow that really shoots best cock feather in, other bows I can't tell much difference.

If the feather is cutting your hand try raising your nock a little at a time. I have a Hornes and I had to raise the nock higher on this bow than any other bow because of this.

I shoot cock feather in. I really like it. That way, only one feather contacts my bow instead of two.

I shoot this way on my longbows.  Seems to make a difference on them, but not my recurves.

I like cock feather in just fine, but now that I started shooting cock feather up I like that even better. It seems to give the best clearance on most of my bows.

Adam, That happens to me sometimes with left wing feathers.Being a lefty you, (and I) get better fletch clearance with right wing. All arrows I make for myself are fletched RW.

Thanks Dale, I think I might have heard of that before, and after 18 years of shootin only LW, Ya think I'd of learned by now !! But really only notice it on my narrow handled L/B's ... Is there anything to change on my Bitz other than a RW clamp, I probably lost the instructions on it 18 years ago ... {LOL} ...

If you haven't tried 4 4" fletched arrows you need to. I switched from 3 5" to the 4 4" and can't believe how much quieter the 4" are. The flight stability seems to be the same...but MUCH quieter! Don't have to worry about cock feather...heck just nock it on the arrow and shot it!

I shoot a black widow recurve which I know isn't a long bow but i'm left-handed and I shoot right wing feathers with the cock feather up and love it... I haven't had any problems
