Title: arrow weight ?
Post by: huntman on October 01, 2009, 10:43:00 PM
I'll be shooting a bob morrison bow @ 53lbs./28 draw. I have bemon 400 shafts with 50 or 75 grain inserts up front. The full length shaft (31.5 for now)with 5 in. feathers,75grain insert,160gr. stos bh with 43gr.adapters ends up @ 621gr. I'm guesing the arrows going to be around 29.5/30 in. after tuning which would take off 15 or 20gr. & i could drop back to the 50 gr. adapters & take off another 25gr. for the total weight being around 580gr. At 10gr.per lbs.53 lbs. which is 530gr.So am i to much over weight @ either way i go? Thanks for any advise.

That only puts you up around 11 gr/in.  As long as you are satisfied with the trajectory you will be fine.  On the plus side, it will help keep the bow quieter.  Besides, those Morrison bows have performance to spare.
