Post by: 2treks on October 01, 2009, 04:23:00 PM
Well, at first light this morning I took this young buck, from my tree stand, at 12yds. He went about 70yds and fell into the tree. 125# 6pt. Backstraps are in my belly! Mmmmm Mmmmm.
I hope some others are haveing great opener in MICHIGAN.
TWO TRACKS "LONGWALKER" 59#@30"
AD Hammerheads with ACE Express head.four WHITE sheild cuts. 750gn. total weight.
This bow is the first Longwalker I made and hunted with, that is the fourth buck it has helped out with.   (http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt12/twotracks/P1000570.jpg)

Nice Chuck,

I had a great morning but saw no deer.  Good thing I've still got some meat from last year or I'd be a starvin' pilgrim.

Congrats!  todd

Thanks for the kind words ALL! It was a great morning
Todd:Thats why I loosed, I was hungry for some   BACKSTRAPS!!!
Bill: yep, White. now RED.
Doug: No. we can take one buck (3" antler or longer) and one with 4pt or better(one side). SOOO, now I wait.

With all that said I will try to break a 20 YEAR steak in the morning buy killing a DEER on my birthday. In 20 years of bow hunting I have only had the chance at two deer on OCT 2 and was never able to get the shot off. once due to farm rules and once due to swishy rain coat(that was a 3yr old 10 pt.) that one upset me. Anyhow, don't send presents (unless you want to) just wish me well in the morning. Thanks again.

Nice job Chuck, Fresh strap is the best, I guess you will be putting a roast in the crock pot tomorrow??
I had a fat doe at 10 yards and another at 14 today..I'm putting Helen in that stand Saturday and Sunday I hope they are still liking the Live oak acorns there and give her a shot

BOO HOO! Nothing but rain this morning. I was going to head out any how but then it really came on hard. So goes another birthday. I guess I will just have to get the crock pot out and get a roast going.
