when making a flemish twist string with b-50 how do you determine how many strings go in to each bundle in deferent poundage bows like some take 16 strings and other might differ right or wrong
I have been going by this tutorial and trial and error
http://www3.sympatico.ca/ragiwarmbear/diy/flemish/flemish.html
When I make a B50 string I use 12 strands for bows 50# and under,I use 14 stands for bows up to 60# and use 16 for over 60#.
so if you just used the standard 14 on every thing up to 60# what efect would it have on your lighter bows?
I would guess they might shoot a little slower. The added strands would probably not be enough to make that much of a difference.
10strand is good up to 50# bow, 14 is good up to 70#bow. Added strands are harder on the bow just like an overbuilt fastflight string. 14 is pretty good for everything unless you shoot 40# or 80#. If you make 3bundle divide by 3, if you make 2bundle divide by two. I like a 3bundle 12strand(good up to 60#bow). If you shoot 45# or less use 9strands.
thanks jesse i think i will try that. also thank you from every one else on your info on this it's greatly aprecated
I use 10 to 12 for 50lb recurves 30 tho centerserving I pad the loops on 10 strand strings makes them quieter good luck
