I used the strap that came with it, just went slow. I got a big camo fleece bag made, slip it over the stand in the carry position, cinch the cord tight and it helps tremendously.

Go to wally world, get some camo fleece(or a dark color) and some shock(bungee) cord. It will take you ten minutes to make one.

Oh and some electrical tape around the "chain" that goes around the tree will keep the "chain" from vibrating and clanking while you set it up...

i like the bag idea..that should help muffle some noise....i have the strap to secure the upper and lower together...but i know there has to be a much quicker and more secure system.... Just a matter of clamping together in 3 or 4 spots..give me some makeshift ideas folks!

I have taken two 8" pieces of the 2" wide sticky back velcro and stuck them together back to back. This gives you a strap that sticks to itself.

Wrap about four of them in different spots and it will hold the stand securely and quiet and they go on and off in a second.

Just wrap them around the stand somewhere for storage after you get to your tree.

frank..thats a good idea..

i was thinking maybe some of the really short bungee cords with the ball.... they use them for tarps and canopys etc.... maybe use  4 ..1 in each corner...it would be quiet and quick...but not sure if it would have enough holding power...

I'm hoping to find something that will be real tight..but easy and quiet to remove..

any better ideas folks...i know someone out there has the perfect system!!

go to a electrical supply shop and get some handle drip. paint the chain with it to coat it. Also look for some old sofa foam ( any sofa that is being thrown out works great. lay the foam in between the tree stand then put it in the bag.... You can also use the foam as a set & back rest.

Almost forgot use a ratchet strap to hold everything tight.

this model has no chains...it has the cables..which are no problem..the problem would be the actual stand rubbing and clanking... when you put the upper and lower sections together to haul... some sort of foam padding would surely be helpful between the metal sections.

ive thought of ratchet straps... definitely will hold tight and are durable....but you still have to ratchet and make some noise before leaving... may go that route if someone doesnt come up with the perfect set up...  ;)

Try putting a piece or two of black foam pipe insulation around the contact points on the stand base/top.  You don't need much, just enough to keep the metal from touching metal (hence, clank).  You can secure it with some zipties, and then just use bungie cords with that plastic dip on the hooks (or plastic hooks, but the rubber coating is quieter).  That'll hold everything together nice and quite, and won't weigh you down a ton.

Fill the tubes with Crazy Foam insulating foam.
I used it on my old Summit and it cuts the ring of the metal. Spray it in, give it a day or so to cure and trim the overflow. You will have to open locking ports or seal them before hand. My old Summit has 3/8" bolts welded to the "V" bar that goes around the tree so all I did was open the holes to accept the bolts.

Pat B... didnt think of the spray foam... that would certainly damper any ringing.

The foam tubing on the outside is good while in stand but is noisy walking through the brush. A rubbery outside coating of some sort would help too.
A short bungee will hold things securely together on the way in and out.

Mabey the pipe insulation, I hav ethe open shot and have not had a problem with any noise, i use the strap that came with is.  They kinda fit together and when straping them to gether i go over the cushion which helps the "hold" the strap tight.  My walk in is about a 1/4 mile and nothing works loose.

Use the Lone Wolf fastening straps that the climbers have.  They are called stabilizer straps.  It is a very quick and quiet way to attach the top and bottom pieces together.  I use these on my Equalizer to transport.  The strap should attach to the bars on the platform and fold over and secure the top.

I have a Summit with open front and I put the platform inside the climber and secure it all with a small ratchet strap and it works great. Quiet too.
