Please give me youre fav short and long longbow just 2 please!! I love the shorter ones for ground blinds like a MOAB... :)
54" southern draw and a 64" bear montana
I use a 56-inch Bear takedown now for hunting out of a blind, though I did have a 60-inch Critter Gitter Special and a 60-inch Aspen Elite that also worked very well. All other hunting I do with 64-inch ACSs and 66-inch Hills. Sorry, I listed too many.
58" Lost Creek and 64" MOAB
I've got two 58" MOAB's, and the longest bow I have is a 64" ACS-CX 3-piece. Also have several others inbetween...
Centaur for short; Robertson or Great Northern for long.
Shrew for short and Morrison for long
Have 2 64" longbows for me. You get used to the length after a while
58" Lost Creek....62" Harrison HSS
54" kestrel, wild horse creek longbow and 62" badger, by john holzrichter
My 62" PL II 45# @ my 29".
And I just ordered a 64" PL X 53# @ 29".
Soon to be shooting Shrew for short, Hill style John Dodge longbow for long. todd
My 52" Lost Creek and 60" Kohannah
60" 3 piece Hornes and a 62" BW PLV
56" Centaur Carbon Elite for short
64" Schafer for long
66" ACS RC 50#, and I'll let you know what I think of the 62" 57# limbs I'll have next week for my Standard CX.
But to make answer your question, ACS for both long and short.
Short: Treadway
Longer: Turkey Creek
Short 64" Back Widow PLV,
Long, 64" Tomahawk Diamond Series Desert Fox.
Both are long enough to be "longbows" and short enough to hunt with.
I've shot a few, but a "short longbow" doesn't fit me.
If I need more room to shoot, I move, or trim limbs or vines, (or use one of those new fangled recurves!)
I almost always hunt from the ground or a tree seat and 64" has never been "too long" to hunt with.
Just me, and I would love to shoot a short Shrew sometime!
Shrew & Griffin
Short - man that's tough, there's some really good ones out there. I've had Shrews, JKTs, etc and my current favorite is my FireFly (don't really know if you can call a 58" longbow a shorty). I let a Lost Creek slip through my fingers and still beat myself up over it...
Long - Again, I've had a bunch, but my all time fave is my RER (and a custom made bow I've been shooting the daylights out of).
58" Kanati for the short.
62" Kota Prairie Nomad for the long...sorry, I'm too short for anything 64" or longer. I just can't safely push-pull string one any longer. If Tim made a 64" Nomad, that would still be my pick if I were a little taller and/or longer armed!
One pc. bows I gotta go with Shrew for the short one (60") and a Griffin for the long one (64"). In a takedown I'd go with a Firefly with a long and short set of limbs. Mike
Horne Traditionalist 66" Bambie wackmaster longbow & same bow Kanted more to pull off the harder shots :)
Short bow is the Shrew hands down. Long would be a Northern Mist or a Robertson.
Eric
Beeler for the short and a good ole Bear Montana for the long.

64 in bear montana does it all for me
I haven't found a longbow under 62" that I could shoot comfortably. For a longbow my pick is a Mohawk.
Long- A&H
Short- Black Creek Banshee
60" Griffin for short, 64" or 66" ACS CX for long.
62" Rampart 3 piece.
I shot one today (a couple actually) and I have just gone over to the dark side. And just yesterday I thought I'd only ever want to shoot 66" longbows- finger pinch, smoothness and all that, but I'm a believer now.
Joshua
Zipper for both
"short longbow" ... :biglaugh:
Already have a short one - Osprey by Chad Holm. For a longer bow I would like either a HH Tembo or a Northern Mist Shelton.
the 2 bows I really like where the Old Shrew I owned ( Past it on to give MoJo to someone else) and a Hill long bow I tried at a 3-D shoot. But I'm really happy with My 70"N2N red Oak self bow I made and a 63.5"N2N self bow PatB made (still need to get the right spine arrows for that one).
Rob, thats is funny , short, longbow mmmmm :goldtooth: :goldtooth: :biglaugh:
62" Robertson Purist
66-8" Dave Miller Bamboo
I absolutely love Toelke Whips. I'm currently shooting a 64" Classic Whip, and liking that grip more. Either the Classic or regular Whip grip will do, personal preference.
As far as short "long"bows, I have to go with the 62" Whip/Classic Whip. I have shot shorter bows, but they don't feel as good to me with a 29.5" draw...Mike
62" BW PL V
68" classic yew or bamboo lams longbow
if I was going under 62", I probably would shoot a 56" Shrew with bamboo lams

So many Choices....
56" take down Fedora xtreme(hybrid)-Fast and stable
66" JD Berry Renaissance-Super quite and accurate
For a 2 piece takedown, look at Wes Wallace Royal at 62" or the HSS carbon by Jack Harrison at 62".
The 60" Morrison Shawnee bows with the foam and carbon limbs are very nice as well
Mine is a Kemph Little Grizzly 56" and 60#@28" smooth and short :wavey:  :archer:
Shrew for short and Wes Wallace Royal for long!!
Treadway in any length!! :biglaugh:
Bill

Another 60" MOAB
Shrew for short, cari-bow featherhorn for long.
My 46" Stalker by Rodney Wright,,,,and
I guess my 64" Bear Patriot for long.
don't own any short bows. 66 or 68" big river longbow
60 inch Lone Wolf "Autumn Storm" LB by John Maus of Glennie, Mich. and 66 inch Howard Hill "Wesley Special". Two extremes but two excellent choices. Still love my Massie "Longhorns" but they are now too differcult to find and I ain't selling mine. Good luck and "Keep'um Sharp".
64 inch PSE widow longbow it's all i could afford, but it kills and that thrills I don't use a short bow I'm 6'3" with a short bow I would look like a cartoon character.
56" Shrew Classic Hunter for my short bow and a 64" Shrew Model-T is my long one.... ;) ..... :bigsmyl:
62" McCollough Griffin for a short and my 66" pronghorn is just fine for a long one...PR
