After well over a decade, I finally took my first wild turkey. I was bowhunting with some friends in Iowa County, Wisconsin two days ago when I spotted a group of five birds walking down a trail that would put them directly behind my tree, up the valley from me and at eye level.
When the first one stepped clear I took her broadside about an inch below the wing but and a hair behind the back of the crop. She made it 10 yards before folding up at the base of a dead tree. Thanksgiving dinner will be a little extra special this year.

It's a TradTech Titan riser with Winex limbs; Beman ICS 340's and 125-grain Ace Standards.
I see the TURKEY, QUIVER, AND HANDLE!! BUT, where is the bow. :saywhat: I like the camo, looks good. Dont set that thing down in the woods, you will lose it.
Congrats. I'm hoping to do the same this year
Congrats Jason!
Congratulations Jason! I've done it out of a blind before in the spring, but have never been able to pull it off in the fall. Those birds are tough to draw on!
 :clapper:
Congrats Jason, good shootin bud!
We start tomorrow(turkeys) and I hope to get out after work :jumper:
Congradulations! I've been trying for a lot longer than 10 years. Someday. Hap
PS Nice picture.
Good job Jason! Turkeys have been giving me fits for the last 4 years. I love hunting them tho'! Good luck on the whitetails and have a safe season. Mike
Congrats!
Congratulations!! My turkey jinx remains intact!!
Great bird! I'm still cursed with those darn things, good to see you're out of the woods!
Good shoot right there!!
Bill
Nicely done Jason.
I am going after turkeys in 2 weeks.
Paul
Hey Jason,
If you still have them and send me at least one set of wing bones, I can make you one of these as a keep sake:

Paul,
Your timing is perfect. I was thinking about that tonight and was going to drop you a line. I've made a few yelpers, but nothing as nice as your work.
I'll unthaw the wings, debone the meat and get in touch about sending a set of bones your way. Thanks in advance.

right on Jason, congrats! I'll be down that way next week myself woot woot!
wow...beautiful calls! Buddy made one for me good stuff!!! Shot a bird in KS and a longbow bird in NE with it....sweet sounding wingbone!
Alright Jason! Way to go. I guess it's a do-over from the Spring. I'm glad you had your gear. :bigsmyl:
Congrats! I'm two years into my quest of taking a bird with my recurve. Maybe this fall?
Way to go! After the first one they get easier. I got my first ever with a bow last year, long bow, then got 2 in 2 days this year with a recurve.
Way to go, Jason! One of these days I hope to break my jinx as well!
Claudia
:bigsmyl:
Congrats Jason. :clapper:

Yeah, it helps when I don't leave it on the ground behind the car when I take off for the airport. ;)
Congrats Jason. A turkey with a bow is a great accomplishment!
Well-done, Jason!
