Looking for a t/d Longbow, budget is 700. What would you recommend.
Thanks in advance.
Whisperstic kajika stik would be a great choice. There are several that would fit your budget...Dryad comes to mind also along with RER, Black Swan... (all of the above are also sponsors) or any number of used ones that are sitting in the tradgang want ads right now. It's according to if you know what kind of grip fits you, if you have shot any so you know what you want, etc., etc.
Depends on what kind of longbow. If you want a 3pc with R/D limbs, I'll second the KajikaStik by JD lund. If your tastes run more to classic, straight ended longbows, then a Hill takedown would fit right into your budget, with a little $$ to spare.
Might be able to pick up a used Morrison Shawnee with Dakota limbs for that.
Jim Jones firefly.... awesome awesome bow
I've tried a bunch, and the RER LX is the one that finally ended my search. And that was BEFORE I got involved in selling them! I've only had my LX for a little over a year now, and it already has accounted for more game than all my other trad bows combined.
That being said, there are a bunch of great T/D bows out there, and many of them have already been mentioned. It boils down to personal preference and individual shooting styles and no one bow is the best bow for everyone.
If you would like to find out more about the RER's give me a call.
I'd suggest a Kempf T/D longbow but he is running 12-14 months right now on new orders. Follow the advice from the above responses...
I haven't tried a lot of them, but I sure like my Kota Prairie Nomad.
I have an excellent three pc Hummingbird Kingfisher for sale in the classified section.$600.Look around on the sites--you won't find too many negative comments.

Pronghorn. Just got another set of limbs for mine and Herb knows what he's doing. They don't come up for sale used very often for a reason.
Mohawk or one of Big Jims longbows if you want a 2 piece.Jims are around 600$ for a more basic bow
2 pc. Northern Mist or Mohawk

My recommendation = Pronghorn 3-pc. An excellent bow for the money. Very well made, Herb Meland is an excellent bowyer and a good person. My 62" 48lb. draws extremely smooth, is very quiet and fast. Best of luck with your decision.
Mohawk, whisperstick, kohannah.
Bob Sarrels Blueridge 3pc TD. Great loking and shooting bow.
