Title: Help with my first bow build.

Hello, I'm new to this forum.
I want to build a self bow. I have a few skinny pieces of hickory and a slightly larger piece of oak. Any advice will help. I understand the basic process, but any advice on tools to use would be helpful. I also need to know how long I have to wait for the wood to dry, or if I can make that go by faster. and what is tillering?

I asked kind of the same question here ... go to the bowyers bench section on this site. They will help you with everything you need to know.  Hope this helps.
