Title: Tuning Arrow Question's
Post by: razorback on September 21, 2009, 08:06:00 PM
I have a mixed batch of xx75 and xx78 2315's. If I am bare shafting them, is ther any difference between the xx75's and the xx78's. I'm not sure what that designation means, I'm guessing it is quality of aluminum or weight but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct. The xx78 is simply a better grade of aluminum.

Thanks for the info. For some reason I thought it would be the other way round. Will it affect tuning at all.

It shouldn't.  The 78's were/are a target grade shaft back in the day.  Nobody talks about this but Aluminum does wear out.  The spine softens up after being shot over and over.  I don't think bowhunters have to worry about wearing them out we typically bend, break, or loose'em first.
