No big story here, but I shot a small doe with a snuffer today. I was in a treestand and she was only around 4 yards from the tree. I don't normally like to take shots this steep, but I felt pretty confident. I hit just a little high and broke one of the ribs next to the spine on entry, but the arrow still penetrated up to the fletching, with a good bit sticking out the bottom of the chest. No damage to the broadhead. The deer ran around 15 yards and started flopping around, so I drove another arrow into her while she was struggling, even though I'm sure I didn't have to. This arrow went through the soft part of one scapula and smashed the off shoulder scapular spine. This broadhead got bent a bit. Here are some pics. The arrow shows all of the fletching bloody, but that is because I pulled it through. Sorry, no pic of the doe. I left my camera at home.

Oh, yeah. I shot her with my 56@28 td vortex longbow with mfx classic 400, 200 grain total weight up front.
Cool congrads!!! :notworthy:
Congrats

They sure make a large hole! Congrats on a nice deer.

Good job Pat!!!
Hey! You left out the part about how you couldn't have done it without my help!
Just kidding! :p

Killdeer
Good Job Pat!
... mike ...
Congrats.Bend that snuffer back just a bit and run it through some more venison.I bent one like that on a missed turkey and got it bent back to near perfect.I hit a doe exactly like you described and she ran 15 yards and flopped over. They are a super broadhead.
Man, I cant wait until one of my snuffers looks like that. Good job.
Good job!
Wow,it takes a powerfull bow to wreck a snuffer like that.Congrats on the doe.
Way to go Pat!
Nice job...congrats!!
That is either a (without adapter)100 or 125 gr. Snuffer.....a much thinner version of a 160.Very thin between the vent and the cutting edge. Not nearly as durable as the 160's, but still a good BH.

Nice Pat!
Way to go Pat!
way to go Pat  :clapper:
Congrats!!
Thanks guys. I figured it would get good enough penetration, but since I started trad I have primarily used 2 blades. They made a pretty big hole. I love using the KME sharpener for the two blades, but someone as sharpening challenged as myself has problems touching them up in the field. It's super easy to touch up a 3 blade with my folding DMT hone.
Guru: Yeah, I have some 125 and 145 grain (total weight) snuffers. They are still fairly tough, but I plan on getting some of the 160's. I'm just about tired of tuning arrows, though. LOL.

Great Job Pat
