Can anyone who has one of these fine looking bows describe it's attributes to me please. Thinking hard on getting one, thanks in advance.

Awesome bows, and at a great price, and the best craftsmanship I have seen. They shoot really fast and it is the quitest bow I own.

They are ok bows, good value for the price. But they don't compare to some other customs I have owned and shot. Good bows, good people, but nothing out of the norm...

This must be Jim Taylor with Taylor made bows.

I disagree, with this, but to each is his own.

I've never shot one but, have heard a lot of great stuff about Big Jim's bows. From what I've heard, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of his bows. I know that may not help you but, just my $.02.

Good luck and if you get one, please let me know how she shoots for ya.

I'm a fellow bowyer in Georgia, and a competitor.  Never met the man yet.  I've heard nothing but great things about Jim's bows.  I've not seen one in person yet, but I'd love to.  Big Jim does a lot for the sport here locally, and seemingly a very nice fellow.

No not Jim Taylor... The first name is Thomas just like in the handle. But its a to each his own deal.

Like i said, good bow for the money, but dont let someone tell you they are the best of the best.. unless they are in your mind (which they may be)

I just wasn't overly impressed with them and thought they shot a lot like a Martin Savanah (another good bow for the price.)

It may be the bow for you, but it wasn't for me. When someone ask what people think, I tell them what "I" THINK. Because if we only wrote that we loved everyones bows then everyone would own a bow that has a ton of handshock and think it was great!!

I dont think they compare to a PL, but thats my thoughts... I do shoot a widow and really like Them, but i REALLY like alot of bows and Bowyers, Big Jim is a great guy and i have bought lots of stuff from him, just not his bows.

we now have two and both are very fine bows.  you will be pleased with them and if you are not or have any issue at all--whatever it may be-- jim will go to all lenghts necessary to make sure you are satisfied, the bow fits you like YOU want, and you are pleased with the product.  that says a lot--and i can attest to this.  the bow i just had made is great--but i underestimated the feel of the beaver tail grip.  now i want a grip put on--now problem gonna get it covered.  this is just the type of person jim is.  the bow he made for my dad--posted in the link above-is quite possibly the best feeling longbow i have ever felt--and i have "tested" a lot in the last year.  he has a wide range of wood combos possible and has very good craftsmanship.  we are very pleased woth the way our bows look, shoot and feel in the hands.  aside from the bows, jim is a great generous guy to be around in general.
here are a few pics of the two bows we just got:

I don't own one yet but I have been to his shop a couple of times. He has made me a set of carbon arrows though and I have seen a few of his bows and pulled them some I can tell you he is a joy to deal with after some other experiences I have had at the local training wheel center when I needed traditional stuff. I think Big Jim will help you all he can. Everyone I have talked with loves his bows. The fit and finish of his bows is to me comparable to a Black Widow. I'm saving now for one and I will tell you that as long as Big Jim's is near me I will be going to see him. Just my 2 cents.

oo yea, when ya get one, dont forget to get a matching quiver.  this is a guaranteed "no movement" quiver.  nicely designed and a great fit to the bows.

had mine a little over a year and like it better every time i shoot it (and i really liked it from the git-go so that's saying something). I haven't had the bows that some here have but have had Widows, Morrison, Caribow, Thunderstick, Robertson, Dale Dye, Meland Pronghorn, Cascade, Bighorn, SuperShrew and a few others. Jim's bows can stand right there with any of 'em on looks, speed and shootability. When I can afford another bow it'll be a BigJim Buffalo Bow with some pretty woods

Guys- I can't thank you enough for all the good words spoken about my bows. I do take a great deal of pride in them and hope their new owners can see that too.

Thank you, BigJim

These bows are so nice and shoot so well I ordered one several weeks ago. They are killers in every sense of the word. Should be close to being ready and I can't wait. Mine will be bacote riser with bacote veneers on the limbs with overlays. I left the decision of the overlays up to Jim's artistic impression. Jim,if you're still here I'll speak with you next week.
