I had a quick hunt the other evening in the canyon above my house. This buck was a with a doe feeding on the low hills. I got within 40 yards and there heads came up, I knocked an arrow and let it fly. The 633 grain gold tip with an Eclipse broadhead took the buck through the front of his shoulders. He made it about 20 yards.

This is my first buck with a recurve, so I am still living the moment. I have taken two does with traditional gear, but this was my goal. I shot him with a Wes Wallace Mentor recurve, 56lbs @ 28. great shooting bow.
Great story, nice shot and it will taste even better since you did it right.
