This was the first bowhunting video I ever saw, and was very instrumental in getting me into bowhunting.
Any body know if it's still available?
I've seen that one! I liked the part where he stalked the bedded deer with his boots off in just his socks.
Best hunting video ever made.IMO.
That Dude can hunt FOR SURE! I may have that one someplace, I just sold "fast and furious"(pig hunting) to a fellow ganger. I watched it agin before I sent it to him and it was awesome. I will dig around and see if I have that one still. I think thats the one he shoots that nice buck from the ground at about 8 FEET?
Didn't Mike Lapinski have one called Eye Level Whitetails?
I have "Whitetail Eye to Eye - with Alan Altizer" it in my video collection. It's one of my favorites. The VHS box says it was produced by Wolf Creek Productions, Inc., copyright 1989. Maybe that will help if you're searching for it on the internet.
Alan's videos are great! I re-watch them and never get bored. I wish some of these guys that make videos today would watch his videos and learn something about the sincerity of the hunt, 'cause anymore, it seems it's all about self promotion or product promotion with videos these days, and that pretty much stinks.
I wish everybody that bowhunts and likes to watch videos could see that one and "Bowhunting October Whitetails"...Hunting Videos made today don't hold a candle to those Classics...
I love Alans' videos. They are great!
Did he stalk the bedded buck by a bulldozer in that one, or was that someone else's video?
The best part was when he killed that trotting buck with his painted up Widow seconds after rattling. He also said it was one of his most gratifying moments! Alan's the best and your right, people could learn from his style.
Great Video for sure but the only problem was my V.C.R. ate the thing...Glad it wasn't mine but my buddy wasn't to happy...He was the one that kept pushing me to take it home & watch it... :biglaugh:
Yeah, this is the video where he stalks the buck bedded down by a bulldozer in his sock feet through the mud...
Years ago there for a few years I think in the 90's I rented every deer hunting video i could find. That was one of them and is still my favorite today.
Great call on Whitetails eye to eye.
T.J.
Sounds like one I need to see someday if I can find one. First I'd heard of it.
thanks!
Yeah used to watch that one over and over! wish I could find it again now ya got me thinking about it.
J
Wonder if you can get it on DVD , best video ever made IMO? He was a quest speaker here one time, great person , down to earth and loves to hunt . Used tot alk to him over on the other traditional site.
I grew up on that video along with Barry Wensels stuff...is Alan still around? He should do another video...I would buy it for sure!
Alan Altizer posts on *********** under the handle "Altizer". You could post there & get it straight from the man who produced it.
I agree with TWO ARROWS Mr Altizer new how to make a great video with humility. I cant even watch the crap thats on the tube these days!!!!!!
You will find Alan over on the other site. I believe he goes by Alan Altizer. Great person!
Alan Altizer now builds his own selfbows and kills big bucks with his own hand knapped flint heads, I wish he was filming this stuff. As far as I know if you can't find one of the old copys you're outta luck? Another good one of Alans I like is called "On the edge" Hes hunting deer in S.Carolina and other places.
Best video I ever saw...second bset was the one he did on hog hunting and a big boar chased him up a tree after the shot. Great stuff ,wish I could get a copy.
A classic video! I wish he was still making hunting videos as well.
It was this video, and Fred Bear's Kodiak Country...first two hunting videos I ever saw.
I was done for...
loved that video!
Alan's the man love his video's in one of them he was shooting a 95 lbs compound i believe no problem with penetration there lol
I spoke with Alan last year and he has no copies. The original producers are missing out on sales if they don't get these out on DVD>
he did make some good footage
Awesome video! Still one of my favourite hunting videos. :archer:
Yep one of my favorite videos of all time, anybody know where he is now.
Anybody heard from Alan, It has been a couple of years since we talked. I know he was doing some security stuff. Your right he makes some great points. I was trying to talk him into a morrison.
I have a copy that i put in the VCR to have on in the background when I'm getting things ready for the deer season. Yes he is on the other list as Altizer. I contacted him a few months ago regarding a Morrison bow. He's as friendly as he appears on his videos.
Add me to this list. This video is the very first that I went out and bought. Go figure, I still have the video, but no tape player. Still can't seem to let it go.
This is why I made sure that i got the VCR/DVD combo!! My kid also got me some gadget to convert HHS to DVD through a computer, although I haven't used it yet
