My best friend from high school is flying in Wednesday afternoon from Pennsyltuckey. Once he gets in my truck, we will be heading West!
Destination: somewhere bout 30 minutes from Vail, Colorado where my cousin has hunted before. We will be pursuing elk with my cousin, his two sons, his brother, and his dad.
Loaded my pack up yesterday and it weighed in at 50 pounds. Did a little culling, got a lighter set of rain gear and got her down to 45. That includes both my hiking in pack and my day pack strapped to it.
Just watched a primos dvd on Mastering the Talk and it has got me fired up!
Here's hoping you pack out a lot more than 45lbs.
Whether is meat or memories.
Good luck Chip. Hope You have a great trip.
Best of luck to you. Meat or not, it will be a trip to remember. Nothing better than hunting with family. I hunt with my cousin too and we have a blast.
Thanks!
Brett,
Have we met? Name sounds familiar. Are you aware of our new trad archery range in Desoto? Prairie Traditional Archers (prairietraditionalarchers.org)
Check it out if you havent! Heck, that may be where I have met you. If so, I apologize!
Chip
30coupe,
I couldn't agree more! I have been once before. I didn't get one but my friend did. Even if he hadn't, it was an incredible experience! At the time I swore I would never miss another year. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes. It has been 5 or 6 years and I am finally making it back!
Course, he shot one the last morning just so I would get the experience of packing one out. You haven't really elk hunted until you have done it, LOL!
Chip
I haeaded to New Mexico tomorrow and cant wait to leave!!!
Best of luck to you, Featherbuster!
