CONGRATS!!!
Hope to make a similar post this year! :)
Awesome man! I'm also looking for one 18" wide...in the rear. And with an inch of fat along the back.
good work bro.
 :clapper:
GMMAT...ain't it great? Well done.
Congrats! Fire up the grill; that's some good eating you've got there. Every year I think, this year I'm holding out for a nice buck. Then a fat doe steps into my shooting lane and my stomach overpowers the desire for antlers.
Enjoy, this will be the one you'll remember always.
Congrats! I hope you plane something special for her cape. Believe it or not, they all feel like the first! That is the beauty of the traditional challenge! JD
Way to go Jeff!
Come on, we've got to hear the story about it!

Fantastic and congratulations. Enjoy.
Thanks SO much, guys. Yeah....anyone who knows me knows how much I "work" at my hunting. I actually had two buddies in town who went with me on the recovery. Special stuff!
The story.....
I sat a buddy up, Saturday morning, in a ladder stand....where I thought he may get a look at a couple piebalds I've been getting on cam. I set up in another ladder about 50yds away....and watched him take a nice old doe, that morning. My other buddies arrived on Sat. afternoon and Sunday.....and we hunted some different areas. Had a good wind for a spot for 2, yesterday, so I sent them there. I went back to the ladder the 1st foe was taken from....just to "look", honestly. I'd taken a doe from this spot last year (last day shooting the wheelie) and I wanted to see what the evening movement was like. Just like the closer, last year, they started filtering into the woodlot (from their bedding area across a pasture), right before last light. I had about 3 does and as many fawns come in and start feeding on acorns. Although she's not big.....she was the biggest doe in the group. She offered me a slight qtring away shot at 16-17yds and I took it. Shot was NOT great.....but she was down inside 35yds. Took her about 5 minutes to expire. Not knowing, I snuck out (never heard a sound from her) and went home to go out to dinner. When we returned, we all 3 went to track. I got a complete pass-thru from my WW head.....and she was right where I thought she was. Revovery took about 3 minutes.
What a thrill! I'll never forget it.
I want to again thank you ALL for fielding some of my sometimes (to you) monotonous questions along the way. She's part "yours". I can't thank you all enough.
We'll be back at 'em all week. And, I'll report if I'm successful, again. Right now....I need to get my buddies on one. THAT would make my week!
Again....thanks. You guys are an awesome crowd.
Jeff great job and thanks for sharing -- what were you using Bow, specs, etc...?
Again thanks for sharing ...
my bow is a Schafer Silvertip (60"), 52@28 (54 @ my DL). I'm shooting a CX 250 at 30" with a 150gr. WW BH. Took me a while to get the sharpening down....but I've never felt more confident in a setup.....including my compound days.
Thanks for inquiring.
great work! What part of NC are you in. I just moved here last year and am trying for my first ever deer in NC.
Romans.....I'm just outside W-Salem.....and I hunt mostly, here. I am heading to Surry Co., this afternoon.
Good luck this year.
Wow, that's awesome! Congratulations!
Congrats. I am looking to do the same this year.

The first one is always the best!!
Batman...
Nope. That's a German Ridge I ordered from 3Rivers. Love it. LOTS of room for extras in the 2 pockets.
I'll be using it and my Safari Tuff, this fall.....and my Kanati for run and bow birds.
Thanks to all for the kind words. She's a great trophy, to ME.
