Title: Carbon arrow?
Post by: acadian archer on September 12, 2009, 01:28:00 PM
Looking to try carbons after I get back from my bear hunt next week.

I'm looking to shoot a 30 inch arrow or so, 41 pound Chek mate recurve at 28", shooting 125 grain steelf force broadheads.

Recommendations ???

I would say a full length, heavily front loaded Beman MFX Classic 500 would be a good start. But I'm no expert, by far.

600 spine 1535 goldtips
600 spine 20/40 ce predators
easton epic 600s

they would all work....

Hey East Coaster- [I can get away with that- my wife is from the Rock  ;-] ]there are a number of carbon choices, and I am sure any that appear in the responses here would work fine. I just made the switch to carbons from wood this summer for the first time. For me, I'll never go back. But- there certainly is a much steeper learning curve to tuning them- it can be very frustrating the first few times.I have been playing with the goldtips, and some carbon express heritage.

However- the best so far, and the easiest to tune, are Arrow Dynamics. I'd suggest that especially for first timers, that you give these a try. Lots of info in this site about them. I am thinking that I will only shoot these in the future- strong, and very consistent.
Good Luck!
